  1. 1. Inundation scenarios in a changing climate : assessing potential impacts of sea-level rise on the coast of South-East England

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Adela Nistora; [2018]
    Keywords : Geography; Geographical Information Systems; GIS; Climate Change; Climate Change Impacts; Sea-Level Rise; Coastal Inundation; LiDAR; South-East England; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : The aim of this study was to explore sea-level rise (SLR) exposure in South-East England by conducting a broad analysis of some of the possible impacts of inundation in the region under different SLR scenarios in a warming climate. The potential effects of coastal inundation were mapped and quantified by applying a modified bathtub modelling approach in GIS to a low-elevation coastal Digital Terrain Model (DTM) derived from up-to-date, high-resolution, high-accuracy LiDAR data. 2. 2. Urban flood modelling : a GIS based approach in Lomma, Skåne region

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Michael Araya Ghebremariam; [2017]
    Keywords : Physical Geography and Ecosystem analysis; Digital Elevation Model; Single flow direction algorithm; Deterministic eight-node D8 algorithm; Multiple flow direction algorithm; Triangular Form Based Multiple Flow algorithm TFM ; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Urbanization triggers flooding because it replaces pervious land surfaces with impervious surfaces that have less capacity to infiltrate and store water into the ground. Detailed analysis and modelling of flooding in urban areas can be performed with GIS-based distributed hydrological models. READ MORE

  3. 3. Exploring the use of 3D GIS as an analytical tool in archaeological excavation practice

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Arkeologi

    Author : Sjoerd Van Riel; [2016]
    Keywords : archaeology; digital archaeology; 3D models; 3D 4D GIS; photogrammetry; LIDAR; laser scanning; excavation methodology; excavation documentation; archaeological drawing methods; reflexivity; landscape archaeology; History and Archaeology;

    Abstract : Several digital technologies are now available to record and document archaeological excavations. A large number of studies have been published concerning the use of laser scanning, image based 3D modelling and GIS. READ MORE

  4. 4. E-PIC

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Designhögskolan vid Umeå universitet

    Author : Kefeng Liu; [2016]
    Keywords : car; eco-system; sustainable vehicle;

    Abstract : For  many  off-road drive   lovers,  planning a journey to  Tibet   is an ultimate dream.  However, the eco-system there  is quite sensitive and fragile. In this project I try to design  a sustainable vehicle that  could make us enjoy  an expedition to Tibet  while  protecting such precious environment. READ MORE

  5. 5. Digital elevation modelling by radargrammetry in real-beam ground mapping mode

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Ola Runeson; [2015]
    Keywords : Gripen; Saab; Harris corner detector; Speeded-Up Robust Features; Radargrammetry; Digital Elevation Modelling; Radar; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : In this thesis the problem of estimating terrain elevation using two-dimensional radar data from the multirole ghter aircraft JAS 39 Gripen is considered. Radar data contains information about range from the aircraft to the reflecting terrain, as well as horizontal angle. READ MORE
