  1. 1. Multibody simulations of vibrations in a truck’s steering system

    University essay from KTH/Matematik (Avd.)

    Author : Marcus Didenbäck; [2023]
    Keywords : Multibody simulation; Vibrations; Stiff differential equations; Equations of motion; Lagrange; Vehicle dynamics; Adams; Flerkroppssimulering; Vibrationer; Styva differentialekvationer; Rörelseekva-tioner; Lagrange; Fordonsdynamik; Adams;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to explore if multibody simulations is a suitable method to investigate vibrations in the steering system of trucks. Vibrations in the steering system and subsequently in the steering wheel is a common issue that automotive manufacturers face. READ MORE

  2. 2. Dynamic Simulation and Suspension Optimization for a Heavy Duty Railway Bogie

    University essay from KTH/Spårfordon

    Author : David Prifer; [2021]
    Keywords : Rail vehicle; Bogie Technology; Running Dynamics; Simulation; Simpack; Vehicle Acceptance; Validation; Järnväg; Gångegenskaper; Flerkroppssimulering; Acceptanskrav;

    Abstract : A multi-body simulation study was undertaken to investigate the running behavior of a rail grinder vehicle with newly developed Ganz bogies. The main purpose of the simulations was to forecast and support the vehicle acceptance tests and support the ongoing development. READ MORE

  3. 3. Modified train wheel wear calculation for fast calculation

    University essay from KTH/Spårfordon

    Author : Shaoyao Chen; [2021]
    Keywords : Precise contact point detection; Material Flexibility; Multiple contact points detection; Winkler theory; wear calculation; fast calculation; Exakt detektion av kontaktpunkter; materialflexibilitet; detektering av flera kontaktpunkter; Winkler-teori; förslitningsberäkning; snabb beräkning;

    Abstract : In this thesis, a modified wear calculation method is developed to calculate the train wheel wear, which can give less precise but faster results compared to the classic wear calculation method. This modified method is developed based on the classic wear calculation method developed by Jendel, which uses Hertz theory and Kalker’s simplified theory to calculate the contact variables and uses Achard theory to calculate the wear volume in an iterative manner. 4. 4. Investigation of sources of wheel-rail impact force deviation through dynamic simulations

    University essay from KTH/Fordonsdynamik

    Author : Sumanth Ram Aravindababu; [2021]
    Keywords : Multi-body simulations; wheel damages; rail damage; damage thresholds; wheel-rail impact forces; classification; Flerkroppssimulering; hjulskador; rälskador; skadetrösklar; hjulslagkraft; rälslagkraft; klassificering;

    Abstract : Due to the increase in demand on freight transportation it becomes necessary to avoid delays to ensure that the goods reach its destination on time. The main factors causing disturbances in the traffic on the mainline is the breakdown of vehicles mainly due to damaged wheels. READ MORE

  5. 5. Modelling Advanced Air Suspension with Electronic Level Control in ADAMS/Car

    University essay from KTH/Fordonsdynamik

    Author : Sai Kausik Abburu; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Multi-body simulations are given more emphasis over physical tests owing toenvironmental, financial, and time requirements in the competitive automotive industry. Thus,it is imperative to develop models to accurately predict and analyse the system's behaviour. READ MORE
