  1. 1. Simulating Mobility of Large Population using Mobile Application Data

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Mattias Rydström; Diana Salim; [2024-01-23]
    Keywords : Human mobility; mobile application data; synthesize activity plans;

    Abstract : Understanding people’s travel patterns and knowing the frequency of their travel activities provide important insights for effective transport management and infrastructure planning. While traditional travel surveys have historically contributed to this valuable information, they come with shortcomings such as being expensive to collect, easily outdated, and having short time coverage. 2. 2. Variational AutoEncoders and Differential Privacy : balancing data synthesis and privacy constraints

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Baptiste Bremond; [2024]
    Keywords : TVAE; Differential privacy; Tabular data; Synthetic data; DP-SGD; TVAE; differentiell integritet; tabelldata; syntetiska data; DP-SGD;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates the effectiveness of Tabular Variational Auto Encoders (TVAEs) in generating high-quality synthetic tabular data and assesses their compliance with differential privacy principles. The study shows that while TVAEs are better than VAEs at generating synthetic data that faithfully reproduces the distribution of real data as measured by the Synthetic Data Vault (SDV) metrics, the latter does not guarantee that the synthetic data is up to the task in practical industrial applications. 3. 3. Identifying effects of adrenaline and dopamine binding on the beta2-adrenergic receptor structure and function using machine learning

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Author : Joar Gunnarsson; Leon Bergner; [2023]
    Keywords : beta2-adrenergic receptor; GPCR; adrenaline; dopamine; Machine learning; Molecular dynamics simulation;

    Abstract : The beta2-adrenergic receptor is a G-protein coupled receptor, involved in several physiological processes, which enables signaling through the cell membrane. To study the effect of dopamine and adrenaline binding on the receptor structure and function, we used machine learning methods applied to data from molecular dynamics simulations. READ MORE

  4. 4. Semi-supervised anomaly detection in mask writer servo logs : An investigation of semi-supervised deep learning approaches for anomaly detection in servo logs of photomask writers

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Toomas Liiv; [2023]
    Keywords : anomaly detection; semi-supervision; HSC; DeepSAD; photomasks; anomalidetektion; semi-övervakad; HSC; DeepSAD; fotomasker;

    Abstract : Semi-supervised anomaly detection is the setting, where in addition to a set of nominal samples, predominantly normal, a small set of labeled anomalies is available at training. In contrast to supervised defect classification, these methods do not learn the anomaly class directly and should have better generalization capability as new kinds of anomalies are introduced at test time. 5. 5. Overcoming The New Item Problem In Recommender Systems : A Method For Predicting User Preferences Of New Items

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Statistiska institutionen

    Author : Alice Jonason; [2023]
    Keywords : Recommender systems; Content-based systems; Implicit ratings; Latent Dirichlet Allocation; Vector Space Model;

    Abstract : This thesis addresses the new item problem in recommender systems, which pertains to the challenges of providing personalized recommendations for items which have limited user interaction history. The study proposes and evaluates a method for generating personalized recommendations for movies, shows, and series on one of Sweden’s largest streaming platforms. READ MORE
