  1. 1. 3D Knit fabrics : optimizing spacer knit fabrics for comfort and breathability in infant products

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Author : Julia Svensson; Hanna Halldorf; [2023]
    Keywords : Spacer fabric; knitting; warp knit; circular knit; textile testing; ProCad Warpknit; infant product; comfort; mechanical properties.;

    Abstract : In this study we looked into an existing textile baby stroller seat and investigated whether there can be any advantage in changing the material to a spacer fabric from perspectives such as functionality, comfort, and sustainability. The subject of 3D knitting, and advanced knitting is being researched more and more because of its versatility in producing and changing parameters of knitted high quality products, but there is a lack of studies done on comfort for children when it comes to knitted spacer fabrics and not many studies have been done on spacer fabrics used for baby seats in strollers or other types of seats for children. 2. 2. Isocyanates formation from thermal degradation of polyurethane foam during welding of district heating pipes

    University essay from KTH/Ergonomi

    Author : Muhammad Akram; [2023]
    Keywords : Polyurethane; Isocyanates; District Heating Pipes; Oxy-fuel Welding; Manual Metal Arc Welding;

    Abstract : Polyurethane insulation foam, which is used as insulation on district heating steel and copper pipes, is made from polymerisation of polyol and diisocyanates monomers. Installation of new district heating pipes or replacement of old pipes involves masses of welding activities. READ MORE

  3. 3. Define optimum process conditions to produce CO2 adsorbents from pur materials

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Author : Daniel Pantzar; Anton Coates; [2022]
    Keywords : Carbon capture and storage; Adsorbent; Chemical activation;

    Abstract : The Carbon Capture and Storage method has been acknowledged for the capabilities of reducing up to 20% CO2 emissions. Development of porous carbon materials prepared from polyurethane foam adsorbent were investigated for capture of CO2. In this thesis work, the carbon material was chemically activated through the direct and indirect methods. READ MORE

  4. 4. Method development for the analysis of PFAS and neutral precursors in active and passive air samplers

    University essay from Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Author : Pascal Camoiras González; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a chemical class of global concern because of their persistence, toxicity and widespread presence in the environment. This work aimed to develop a robust and reliable method to analyse perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS), perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), as well as the neutral volatile PFOS precursors, namely perfluorooctane sulfonamides and perfluorooctane sulfonamidoethanols (FOSAs/FOSEs). 5. 5. Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs), flame retardants and cyclic volatile methylsiloxanes in indoor air in Uppsala, Sweden : occurrence and human exposure assessment

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment

    Author : Bo Sha; [2017]
    Keywords : passive air sampling; SIPs; indoor air; PFAS; flame retardants; siloxanes; human exposure;

    Abstract : Indoor air samples were collected from three buildings located at the Swedish University of Agricultural Science (SLU) campus in Ultuna, Uppsala, Sweden and from residences of nine volunteers working in the three buildings. Sorbent-impregnated polyurethane foam (SIP) disk passive air samplers were deployed in different types of rooms in the three buildings including computer room (n = 1), labs (n = 3), lecture rooms (n = 3), offices (n = 8) and dining areas (n = 3) and homes (n = 9) of the volunteers between September and November in 2016.
