  1. 1. Design and processing of metal-organic frameworks for greenhouse gas capture

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nanoteknologi och funktionella material

    Author : Evelina Wiksten; [2023]
    Keywords : Metal-organic frameworks; zeolitic imidazolate frameworks; carbon capture; gas adsorption; direct ink writing;

    Abstract : Anthropogenic emission of greenhouse gases has long been suspected to contribute to global warming and climate change. Most greenhouse gases are emitted in a mixture, so efficient methods and materials to separate and capture the gases are in demand in order to reduce emissions. READ MORE

  2. 2. Symmetry Analysis of Orbitals in a Plane Wave Basis : A Study on Molecules and Defects in Solids

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Teoretisk Fysik

    Author : William Stenlund; [2022]
    Keywords : Point Defect; Divacancy; Symmetry; Group Theory; DFT; Plane Wave; Plane Wave Basis; 4H-SiC;

    Abstract : Modeling and analysing materials with theoretical tools is of great use when finding new systems for applications, for example, semiconductors with point defects can be used for quantum applications, like single photon emitters. One important aspect to consider symmetry, which can yield useful information about the properties of a system. READ MORE

  3. 3. Life Cycle Assessment of typical projects of the distribution power network : Assessment, Improvement & Recommendations

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Hugo Serres; [2022]
    Keywords : Life cycle assessment; GHG emissions; power infrastructures; Livscykelanalys; växthusgasutsläpp; energiinfrastrukturer;

    Abstract : The carbon footprint of the power generation is studied for more than 30 years now. In order to curb GHG emissions, politics, industrials and consumers tend to take action to reduce the carbon intensity of the electricity mix, spread electrification and enhance usage efficiency. 4. 4. Conductive metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and possible applications

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskap

    Author : Meghdad Hosseinzadegan; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of hybrid organic/inorganic materials with permanent porous structure. Whilst there are virtually endless possible selection of metal ions and organic ligands to build up a MOF structure, intrinsically conductive MOFs are rare, relatively new, and our knowledge on their conductivity and charge transport mechanisms is limited. 5. 5. Linker substitution in ZIF-8 and its effect on the selective uptake of the greenhouse gases CH4, CO2 and SF6

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nanoteknologi och funktionella material

    Author : Daniel Hedbom; [2021]
    Keywords : ZIF-8 hybridization; Porous materials; GHG capture;

    Abstract : In this master thesis project, attempts were made to synthesize, pore size tailor, and characterize ZIF-8 and several mixed-linker ZIF structures to improve capture of the greenhouse gasses CH4, CO2, and SF6. Three experimental linkers, 2-methylbenzimidazole, 2-aminobenzimidazole, and 5-nitrobenzimidazole were chosen to gradually substitute 2-methylimidazole as the linker in ZIF-8. READ MORE
