  1. 1. APPLICATION OF IN SITU Rb-Sr DATING AND GEOCHEMICAL INVESTIGATIONS ON A NEW, 1.52-1.56 GA. OLD PEGMATITE FIELD IN THE ARCHIPELAGO OFF GOTHENBURG, IDEFJORDEN TERRANE, WESTERN SWEDEN

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Laszlo Zorc; [2023-08-18]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In this study, Rb-Sr geochronology was used to determine the crystallization/cooling ages of muscovites and biotites from mapped primitive barren and rare element pegmatites in the Stora-Le-Marstrand Formation in the southwestern archipelago of Gothenburg. The results indicate that primitive barrens can be linked to the DG2 deformation event that occurred 1. READ MORE

  2. 2. Additively Manufactured Rare Earth Free Permanent Magnets

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap; Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi

    Author : Himesha Abenayake; [2023]
    Keywords : additive manufacturing; MnAl; MnAl C ; rare earth free permanent magnets; selective laser melting; SLM; MnAl-based permanent magnets;

    Abstract : It’s well known that MnAl(C) material consists of a metastable phase (τ) with promising ferromagnetic properties, produced either by controlled cooling from the high-temperature hexagonal ε-phase or rapid cooling that freezes the ε-phase followed by low-temperature annealing. Due to the high cooling rates involved, additive manufacturing (AM) especially selective laser melting (SLM), has been identified as a possible method to retain the high-temperature ε-phase, hence containing a potential capacity to produce permanent magnets upon low-temperature annealing. 3. 3. Powder Rheology within AM production : Evaluating Compressibility, Permability, & Aeration for 316L Powders Within SLM Processes

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Author : André Leo; [2022]
    Keywords : Powder rheology; AM; Additive manufacturing; BPF; Powder bed fusion; SLM; Selective laser melting; FT4 powder rheometer; Compressibility; Permeability; Aeration; Pulver reologi; AM; Additiv tillverkning; BPF; Pulver bed fusion; SLM; Selektiv lasersmältning; FT4 pulver reometer; kompressibilitet; permeabilitet; luftning;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing with the use of metals have been a steadily increasing field, being able to create products with a higher degree of complexity than traditional processing techniques. SLM is a popular AM process that uses metal powder as feedstock, and one of the key components of this process is the powder rheology. READ MORE

  4. 4. The Effect Of Sub Tx Heat Treatments On The Magnetic Properties Of An Fe-based Bulk Metallic Glass

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Materialfysik

    Author : Grunditz Jakob; [2022]
    Keywords : Bulk metallic glass; annealing; heat treatment; MOKE; Magnetic; Fe-based; Coercivity; Magnetic properties; Magnetic saturation; coercivity; saturation; magnetic coercivity; sub crystallization; sub Tx; Relaxation;

    Abstract : Metallic glasses produced with Selective Laser Melting (SLM) often contain internal mechanic stress. This internal stress can have an impact on the magnetic properties of the material due to its connection to the magnetic anisotropy of the material. READ MORE

  5. 5. Experimental pressure loss analysis in a mini tube for a fully developed turbulent airflow. : Mini channels of lengths 22.5 mm to 150 mm in length with a constant diameter of 1.5 mm

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Mekanisk värmeteori och strömningslära

    Author : Soumen Ghosh; [2022]
    Keywords : Experimental fluid mechanics; Pressure drop; friction factor; Internal flow; fully developed flow; turbulent flow; Fluid mechanics; Ideal gas; Moody s chart; Additive manufacturing; compressible flow; turbine blade cooling; mini channel;

    Abstract : The cooling systems in a gas turbine are especially important as the turbine blades and vanes are exposed to extreme temperatures. The relatively cool air is extracted from the compressors and fed to the turbines to cool the turbine blades. READ MORE
