1. BCP Lithography Defined Arrays of InAs NWs Grown Using MOVPE with Au Seeds
University essay from Lunds universitet/Lunds Tekniska Högskola; Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysikAbstract : In this report we outline a detailed process flow for a quick and inexpensive implementation of large dense arrays of InAs nanowires (NWs) grown in the reactive ion etching/etched (RIE) pores of a SiO2/SiNx mask on top of an InAs/Si(111) substrate. The self-assembled (hexagonally close-packed) pattern of poly(methyl-methacrylate) (PMMA) cylinders in a poly(styrene) (PS) matrix adopted by a linear diblock poly(styrene-block-methyl-methacrylate) P(S-b-MMA) block-copolymer (BCP) was transferred to the dielectric stack (consisting of a ≈10 nm plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition/deposited (PECVD) SiNX layer topped by a thin atomic layer deposition/deposited (ALD) SiO2 film) using a two-step RIE procedure. 2. Electrically Modified Quartz Crystal Microbalance to Study Surface Chemistry Using Plasma Electrons as Reducing Agents
University essay from Linköpings universitet/KemiAbstract : Metallic films are important in various applications, such as electric devices where it can act as contacts. In electrical devices, the substrate typically consists of silicon dioxide (SiO2) which is a temperature-sensitive substrate. READ MORE

3. Sputtering of High Quality Layered MoS2 films
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Fasta tillståndets elektronikAbstract : We have deposited bulk, monolayer and few-layers as well as large-scale 2D layered MoS2 thin films by pulsed DC magnetron sputtering from an MoS2 target. MoS2 has gained great attention lately, together with other layered Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (TMDCs), for its unique optical and electrical properties with thickness-dependent bandgap. 4. Characterization of graphene-based sensors for forensic applications : Evaluating suitability of CVD graphene-based resistive sensor for detection of amphetamine
University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Abstract : Recent improvements in sensor technology and applications can be partly attributed to the advancements in microand nanoscale fabrication processes and discovery of novel materials. The emergence of reliable and inexpensive methods of production of monolayer materials, such as graphene, has revealed the advantageous electronic properties which when utilized in sensory elements can significantly enhance response to the input signal. 5. Silicon surface passivation via ultra-thin SiO2, TiO2, and Al2O3 layers
University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematikAbstract : Energy traps at the silicon surface originating from discontinuities in the lattice is detrimental to the performance of solar cells. Acting as recombination centers, they offer a location where the charge carriers may easily return to their original energy band after excitation. READ MORE
