  1. 1. Surface Functionalization of Nanowires Using Silane-PEG Compounds

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Hedvig Ekfors Elvin; [2022]
    Keywords : Functionalization; Nanowires; Silanization; Surface Chemistry; Materials Chemistry; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Introduction: GaP nanowires were functionalized using silane-PEG-NH2 and compared with cellulose acetate, PAcrAm™-g-(PMOXA, amine, silane) and a non-functionalized reference sample. Functionalization would allow strong, covalent anchoring of antibodies instead of adsorption. READ MORE

  2. 2. Development of a Method to Predict the Adhesion of Industrial Paint Coating

    University essay from KTH/Fiber- och polymerteknologi

    Author : Akheen Sadik; [2022]
    Keywords : Contact angle technique; optical tensiometer; paint coating; adhesion promoter; silane; kontaktvinkel; optisk tensiometer; ytbehandling; adhesion; silan;

    Abstract : I samarbete med Sherwin-Williams AB, utvecklades en metod med kontaktvinkelmätning för att teoretiskt uppskatta vätbarhet och vidhäftningsförmåga av industriella färger på stålsubstrat. Optisk tensiometer och Youngs ekvation kombinerat med OWRK beräkningsmodell användes för att bestämma ytenergier. READ MORE

  3. 3. Preparation and Characteristics of Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 based Lead-Free thin films by Pulsed Laser Deposition

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Ge Jiang; [2018]
    Keywords : PLD method; piezoelectric thin film; electrical properties; PLD-metoden; piezoelektrisk tunnfilm; elektriska egenskaper;

    Abstract : Lead-based piezoelectric materials, such as PbZrxTi1-xO3 (PZT), have attracted considerable attention and have been widely used in actuators, sensors and transducers due to their excellent electric properties. However, considering the toxicity of lead and its oxides, environmentally friendly lead-free piezoelectric materials are attracting more attention as potential replacements for PZT. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fabrication of surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) active substrates based on vertically aligned nitrogen doped carbon nanotube forest

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Author : Md Khorshed Alam; [2015]
    Keywords : Photolithography; Physical Vapor Deposition; Chemical Vapor Deposition; Annealing; Scanning Electron Microscopy; Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy;

    Abstract : This thesis work describes the fabrication and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) characterization of vertically aligned nitrogen (N) doped multi walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) forests coated by silver (Ag) and gold (Au) nanoparticles. In the present work, the CNT forests were grown from a catalyst metal layer by the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process at temperature of 800 oC and a physical vapor deposition (PVD) and annealing processes were applied subsequently for the evaporation and diffusion of noble metal nanoparticles on the forest.
