  1. 1. EMC-Optimized Transparency: Reducing Electromagnetic Emissions in Surveillance Camera Domes

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik

    Author : Fabian Sondh; Erik Hansson; [2023]
    Keywords : Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is a crucial aspect to product development. Companies need to make sure their products live up to the standards that exists around the world. One way of reducing electromagnetic emissions is to shield the product, using some conducting material, for instance, copper. READ MORE

  2. 2. Improving the experimental setup for ultrasound-optical tomography imaging

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Author : Ibtisam Dahir Ahmed; [2023]
    Keywords : Ultrasound-optical tomography UOT ; thulium-doped lithium niobate;

    Abstract : According to Bröstcancer förbundet, mammography is not efficient at detecting tumors in dense breast tissue or diagnosing breast cancer at its early stages. Ultrasound-optical tomography (UOT) is an imaging technique in development and has the potential for deep-tissue imaging. READ MORE

  3. 3. Fermi-LAT gamma-ray and multi-wavelength SED analysis and modelling of PKS 0426-380 : A thesis analysing the behaviour and properties of the blazar PKS 0426-380

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för fysik och elektroteknik (IFE)

    Author : Nathanael Löfström; [2022]
    Keywords : active galactic nucleus; black hole; AGN; Fermi-LAT; JetSeT;

    Abstract : An analysis is made on the Flat Spectrum Radio Quasar PKS 0426-380 using two sets of data. The first set of data is the Fermi-LAT data collected over the time 54682.66 − 59317.66 in Modified Julian Date within the energy range of 100 MeV to 500 GeV. READ MORE

  4. 4. Measuring the [C II]-to-H I connection in high-redshift absorption-selected galaxies

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Gaurav Senthil Kumar; [2022]
    Keywords : QSO; Quasar; Black Hole; AGN; Active Galactic Nuclei; DLA; Damped Lyman Alpha; C II; [C II]; H I; Sightline; HST; X-shooter; Spectroscopy; Echelle Spectroscope; Hyperfine transition; Hyperfine; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : HI neutral gas is the basic building block of galaxies. It dictates the star formation rate and hence the metal enrichment rates within high redshift galaxies. HI neutral gas cannot be directly observed beyond z ≈ 0. READ MORE

  5. 5. Lyman Continuum Radiation from Intermediate-Mass Black Holes : An Estimation of the Contribution of LyC Radiation from IMBHs in z~3 Galaxies

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Observationell astrofysik

    Author : Marika Ljungberg; [2020]
    Keywords : intermediate-mass black holes; cosmic reionization; high-redshift galaxies;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the cosmic reionization of the intergalactic medium in the high redshift universe and, in particular, is a first approach to examine what role intermediate mass black holes (IMBHs) play in this cosmic age. Unexpectedly high values of hydrogen ionizing radiation, compared to current models, have been reported from galaxies at redshift ~3 (used as stand-ins for galaxies at the age of reionization), and thus these models need revision, potentially by adding effects of IMBH content in the galaxies.
