  2. 2. 3D printer in dosimetry and mammography – designing and testing an OSL dosemeter holder and a low contrast-detail phantom

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Måns Boll; [2022]
    Keywords : Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : Introduction: Today, 3D printing is a versatile tool used in a wide range of fields. With the advent of more cost-effective fused deposition modelling (FDM) 3D printing technologies it is time to investi- gate what such a 3D printer has to offer in radiation science applications. 3. 3. Validation of a method utilising MR images for dose planning of prostate cancer treatment : Validation of new coil technology applied on the pelvis region of healthy volunteers

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för hälsa, medicin och vård

    Author : Tova Rung; [2022]
    Keywords : Synthetic CT; Air coil;

    Abstract : By generating a synthetic CT image (sCT) directly from the MRI, the electron density can be calculated, and the CT examination can be excluded from the patient flow minimizing the risk of uncertainties in the registration. Basing the radiation treatment process solely on MR images is called MRI-only and is beneficial for the patient as it can provide more accurate radiation treatment than the standardised treatment with fewer CT examinations and possibly a more cost-effective radiation treatment process. 5. 5. Extraction of tool reaction forces using LS-DYNA and its use in Autoform sheet metal forming simulation

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för maskinteknik

    Author : Esbjörn Zachén; [2019]
    Keywords : Sheet Metal Forming; Stamping Die; blank holder; Structural Analysis; Finite Element Simulation;

    Abstract : In product development there is still potential to decrease lead times with faster and more accurate simulations. The objective of this thesis was to study whether Finite Element (FE) simulations using explicit LS-DYNA to extract reaction forces from sheet metal forming tools during forming, could be used to improve existing FE models in sheet metal forming software AutoForm.
