  1. 1. Fast Clock Synchronization for Large-Scale MEMS Ultrasonic Transducer Arrays

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för systemteknik

    Author : Karl-Johan Karlsson; [2022]
    Keywords : clock synchronization; clock deskew; MEMS transducer; Delay line; Time-to-Digital conveter;

    Abstract : In many systems today sensors or transmitters need to be read or controlled simultaneously. This thesis investigates a new architecture used for deskewing clock signals between multiple separated parts of a signal transmission system. READ MORE

  2. 2. Capacitive Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers for Underwater Applications

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Author : Patrick Johansson; [2021]
    Keywords : CMUT; capacitive; micromachined; ultrasonic; transducer; model;

    Abstract : Capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers (CMUT:s) are often used in medical imaging and they show some promise as underwater transducers. This thesis collates the available information about how CMUT:s operate, their strengths and weaknesses and investigates their efficiency as an underwater transducer. READ MORE

  3. 3. Simulation of ultrasonic time of flight in bolted joints

    University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Author : David Chlebek; [2021]
    Keywords : Acoustoelastic effect; User material subroutine; Murnaghan hyperelastic material model; Explicit FEM; Ultrasonic preload; Fortran; Akustoelastiska effekten; Användar material; Murnaghan hyperelastisk materialmodell; Explicit FEM; Ultraljudsmätning av klämkraft; Fortran;

    Abstract : Ultrasonic measurements of the preload in bolted joints is a very accurate method since it does not depend on the friction and other factors which cause difficulties for common methods. The ultrasonic method works by emitting an ultrasonic pulse into the bolt which is reflected at the end and returned to the transducer, the change in the time of flight (TOF) can be related to the elongation of the bolt and therefore the preload. 4. 4. Ultrasonic Assisted Drying and its Effect on 3D Printability of Minced Beef and Other Foods

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Author : Viktor Lindström; [2020]
    Keywords : Drying; Convection drying; Ultrasound; Ultrasonic drying; 3D-Printing; 3D-Printability; Food; Meat; Beef; Food technology; Livsmedelsteknologi; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The aim of this master thesis project was to investigate the impact on drying kinetics of ultrasound during air drying by a new ultrasonic transducer, on which a patent application has been filed by CSIRO. Convection drying using hot air is currently the conventional method of drying in the industry due to its simplicity and low cost. READ MORE

  5. 5. Raspberry Pi Based IoT System for Bats Detection at Wind Farms

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för matematik och naturvetenskap

    Author : Hemanth Surya Karuturi; Megha Sanjeev Reddy Karri; [2020]
    Keywords : Bats; Pattern Recognition; Ultrasonic Frequencies; Ultrasonic Microphone; Ultrasonic Transducer; Wind Turbines;

    Abstract : Context: Large numbers of bats are killed by collisions with wind turbines and there is at present no accepted method of reducing or preventing this mortality. We designed a system, which detects and records any bats’ activity in and around the surroundings of wind turbines. READ MORE
