  1. 1. Convolutional Neural Networks for Classification of Prostate Cancer Metastases Using Bone Scan Images

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik

    Author : Lewis Belcher; [2017]
    Keywords : Machine Learning; Theoretical Physics; Supervised Learning; Artificial Neural Networks; Convolutional Neural Networks; Image Classification; Deep Learning; Prostate Cancer; Metastatic Disease; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are used to classify directly on bone scan images in two medical tasks: classifying anterior / posterior pose, and classifying bone scan hotspots as metastatic / non-metastatic in patients with prostate cancer and suspected metastatic disease. The networks trained produce highly accurate results in both tasks and current methods are outperformed for all tested body regions when classifying metastatic / non-metastatic hotspots. READ MORE

  2. 2. Classifying patients' response to tumour treatment from PET/CT data: a machine learning approach

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för teknik och hälsa (STH)

    Author : Giulia Buizza; [2017]
    Keywords : treatment response; PET CT; Radiomics; feature extraction; support vector machines;

    Abstract : Early assessment of tumour response has lately acquired big interest in the medical field, given the possibility to modify treatments during their delivery. Radiomics aims to quantitatively describe images in radiology by automatically extracting a large number of image features. 3. 3. Classifying sport videos with deep neural networks

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Daniel Karlsson; [2017]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This project aims to apply deep neural networks to classify video clips in applications used to streamline advertisements on the web. The system focuses on sport clips but can be expanded into other advertisement fields with lower accuracy and longer training times as a consequence. READ MORE

  4. 4. Analysis of similarity and differences between articles using semantics

    University essay from Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för innovation, design och teknik

    Author : Ahmed Bihi; [2017]
    Keywords : Natural language processing; similarity; semantic analysis; computer science;

    Abstract : Adding semantic analysis in the process of comparing news articles enables a deeper level of analysis than traditional keyword matching. In this bachelor’s thesis, we have compared, implemented, and evaluated three commonly used approaches for document-level similarity. READ MORE

  5. 5. Automatised analysis of emergency calls using Natural Language Processing

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Emarin Andersson; Benjamin Eriksson; Sofia Holmberg; Hossein Hussain; Lovisa Jäberg; Erik Thorsell; [2016-10-31]
    Keywords : emergency medical dispatcher; EMD; emergency medical communication centre; EMCC; SOS Alarm; natural language processing; iKnow; gensim; CoreNLP; Grammatical Framework;

    Abstract : The operators at SOS Alarm receives thousands of calls each day at the different emergency medical communication centres, owned by SOS Alarm, all over Sweden. A subset of these calls contain room for improvement and the operators could learn to improve from these calls. READ MORE
