  1. 1. Customizable Contraction Hierarchies for Mixed Fleet Vehicle Routing : Fast weight customization when not adhering to triangle inequality

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Martin Larsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Contraction Hierarchies; Customizable Contraction Hierarchies; Vehicle Routing Problem; Battery Electric Vehicles; Mixed Fleet; Kontraktionshierarkier; Anpassningsbara Kontraktionshierarkier; Ruttplanering; Batteridrivna elfordon; Blandad fordonsflotta;

    Abstract : As the transport industry shifts towards Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) the need for accurate route planning rises. BEVs have reduced range compared to traditional fuel based vehicles, and the range can vary greatly depending on ambient conditions and vehicle load. READ MORE

  2. 2. Route Planning of Battery Electric Heavy-Duty Commercial Vehicles : Using Contraction Hierarchies and Mixed Integer Programming

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Datalogi

    Author : Olle Delborg; Elias Insulander; [2023]
    Keywords : route planning; route optimization; contraction hierarchies; mixed integer programming; vehicle routing problem; electric trucks; electric vehicles; battery; openstreetmap; shortest path; Dijkstra;

    Abstract : This thesis addresses route planning of Battery Electric Heavy-Duty Commercial Vehicles to enhance the reliability of electric vehicle transport. Collaborating with Scania, a Swedish truck manufacturing company, the goal is to develop a pipeline that uses open source data from OpenStreetMap and performs a modified Contraction Hierarchy in order to create a graph that can be used as input to a modified Vehicle Routing Problem formulation using Mixed Integer Programming. 3. 3. Concrete Limits: A sociometabolic analysis of the feasibility of the Circular Economy approach for the concrete sector

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Internationella miljöinstitutet

    Author : Nicolette Simone Wedgwood Young; [2023]
    Keywords : Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : The concrete sector is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions; consumes substantial amounts of natural resources and serves as a significant source of global waste. The Circular Economy approach has been put forward as the solution to these environmental issues, but the overall effectiveness of the approach has been called into question by existing research. 4. 4. Deep Neural Networks as SurrogateModels for Fuel Performance Codes

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad kärnfysik

    Author : Wenhan Zhou; [2023]
    Keywords : Transuranus; AI; Nuclear Fuel Rods;

    Abstract : The core component of a nuclear power plant is the reactor and the fuel rods that supply it with fission fuel. Efficient and safe energy extraction is thus highly dependent on the reactor design and the conditions of the fuel rods. To anticipate high-quality operation and potential risks in advance, one must perform simulations on the fuel rods. READ MORE

  5. 5. Forecasting, Monetary Policy, Nominal Gross Domestic Product Stability, and Macroeconomic Outcomes in a suboptimal currency area. : An examination of the Eurozone

    University essay from Jönköping University/Internationella Handelshögskolan

    Author : Layton Nyanzi Mukwaya; Jordi Garcia Martinez; [2023]
    Keywords : Macroeconomics Nominal GDP;

    Abstract : The purpose of this paper is the examination of whether a strategy of using forecasts to stabilise the Nominal Gross Domestic Product (NGDP) growth rate as a nominal anchor, through a rules-based approach to monetary policy is viable in the Eurozone. The paper uses a modified Taylor rule, that uses NGDP forecasts as a variable to generate a prescribed interest rate from which the interest rate set by the European Central Bank (ECB) is subtracted to create a variable we call the Rate Gap.
