  1. 1. The transition of reaction-to-fire behavior from biomass to corresponding biochar

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Jacob Johansson; [2023]
    Keywords : biochar; biomass; heat release rate; reaction-to-fire;

    Abstract : As of now, the environmental issue is very topical and there is also an underutilization of different biological material where these can be used in ways that are typically not thought of. One way to increase the degree of utilization is to convert various biomasses such as natural rubber, olive pits, wood chips, and reed pellets into biochar. READ MORE

  2. 2. Bio-based resins for digital light processing : Mechanical and degradable properties

    University essay from KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Author : Moa Eklund; Amanda Olofsson Ribrant; [2023]
    Keywords : Digital Light Processing 3D Printing DLP ; Additive manufacturing; Bio-based; Polymer; Thermosets; Covalent Adaptable Networks CANs ; Recycling; Characterization.; Digital Light Processing 3D Printing DLP ; Additiv tillverkning; Bio-baserad; Polymer; Härdplast; Kovalenta Anpassningsbara Nätverk CANs ; Återvinning; Karaktärisering.;

    Abstract : Thermosets are appropriate materials for various applications due to benefits such as heat resistance and good mechanical properties. The disadvantages of traditional thermosets from a sustainable manufacturing perspective are that they are usually derived from fossil resources, and also have permanent cross-linked networks that are difficult to break, making them non-recyclable. 3. 3. Biobased Photocurable Resins for 3D-Printing of Self-Healable & Recyclable Thermosets

    University essay from KTH/Fiber- och polymerteknologi

    Author : Anna Gardell; Maria Aspenberg; Julia Aziz; [2022]
    Keywords : vanillin; vitrimer; imine; resin; dynamic covalent bonds; biobased thermoset; photocuring; chemical recyclability; self-healing; digital light processing DLP ; 3D-printing; vanillin; vitrimer; imin; resin; dynamiska kovalenta bindningar; biobaserad härdplast; fotohärdning; kemisk återvinningsbarhet; självläkning; digital light processing DLP ; 3D-utskrift;

    Abstract : Överkonsumtionen av engångsartiklar i fossilbaserad plast är ett av dagens stora miljöproblem. Således finns en efterfrågan på strategier för framställning av biobaserade plaster i allmänhet och härdplaster i synnerhet. READ MORE

  4. 4. Injectable and shape-retaining collagen hydrogel, crosslinked using bio-orthogonal cycloaddition chemistry

    University essay from KTH/Fiber- och polymerteknologi

    Author : Murtaza Sharq; [2022]
    Keywords : Injectable and shape-retaining collagen hydrogel; crosslinked using bio-orthogonal cycloaddition chemistry; Injicerbara och formbevarande kollagenhydrogeler; tvärbundna med bio-ortagonal cykloadditionskemi;

    Abstract : Under senaste decennierna, har intresset kring implantat från naturliga och syntetiska polymerer ökat markant i samband med en ökad marknadsefterfrågan på vävnadsdonationer. Detta har lett till efterforskningen av nya in-situ formerande geler med formbevarande egenskaper in-vivo. READ MORE

  5. 5. Development of covalent organic frameworks for energy storage applications : DAAQ-TFP COF and MXene composite electrodes for proton cycling

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nanoteknologi och funktionella material

    Author : Simanjit Singh; [2022]
    Keywords : covalent organic framework; DAAQ-TFP; MXene; composite electrodes; 1 3 5-Triformylphloroglucinol; 2 6-Diaminoanthraquinone; nanosheets; exfoliation; ex-situ; Ti3C2Tx;

    Abstract : The demand for today's material resources for energy storage is rapidly increasing and can result in both environmental and political conflicts that can affect the development of electronic devices due to high prices and limitations of raw materials for batteries. In this study, potential future composite electrodes were synthesised with an ex-situ approach by compositing redox-active 2,6-Diaminoanthraquinone and 1,3,5-Triformylphloroglucinol covalent organic framework (DAAQ-TFP COF) with conductive delaminated Ti3C2Tx MXene to maximise the number of redox-active moieties during cycling.
