  1. 1. Transverse Momentum Spectra in pp collisions (\sqrt{s}\) = 7 TeV and \(\sqrt{s}\) = 13 TeV in ALICE

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Author : Andreas Stokkeland; [2023]
    Keywords : Multiplicity; Multiplicity classes; Soft interactions; Quark Gluon Plasma; QGP; transverse momentum; p_T; Chi-squared; fits; fit functions; Levy; Lévy; Exponential; BGBW; Boltzmann-Gibbs blast-wave; Fermi-Dirac; Bose-Einstein; Boltzmann; pion; kaon; proton; transverse momentum spectra; p_T spectra; surface velocity; Minimum Bias; MB; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this project particle production as a function of transverse momentum (\(p_{\rm T}\)) in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy (\(\sqrt{s}\)) of 7 TeV and 13 TeV has been studied. The transverse momentum is interesting to study since it reflects momentum created in the collision (before the collision, all momentum is in the beam - going in a longitudinal direction) and therefore gives information on the collision dynamics. 2. 2. Towards a Reliable and Valid Analysis of VO2m Off-Kinetics

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Hrafnkell Þráinsson; [2022]
    Keywords : Sports Technology; Near-infrared spectroscopy; Muscle oxidative capacity; Occlusion; Software; Automation; Idrottsteknologi; Near-infrared spectroscopy; Muskulaturens oxidativa förmåga; Ocklusion; Programvara; Automatisering;

    Abstract : Non-invasive methods to evaluate skeletal muscle oxidative capacity have beenemerging as a viable substitute for invasive methods in recent years. One ofthose methods utilises near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to calculate V O2mrecovery off-kinetics following an exercise. READ MORE

  3. 3. A study of the gamma-ray emission from the blazar S50716+71 using the Fermi-LAT telescope

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för fysik och elektroteknik (IFE)

    Author : Fredrik Vislander; [2022]
    Keywords : AGN; active galactic nuclei; Fermi-LAT; astrophysics; gamma-rays; synchrotron self-Compton; SSC; S50716 71.;

    Abstract : This thesis sums up a bachelor project in which gamma-ray emission from an extra-galactic source (S50716+71) is studied using data collected by the Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT). The emission consists of 12,5 years of data (April 2008 to February 2020) in the energy range 100 MeV - 300 GeV. READ MORE

  4. 4. Constraints on the High-Energy Gamma-Ray Spectrum of Nearby Star-Forming Galaxies

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Fysikum

    Author : Oskar Svenborn; [2021]
    Keywords : Gamma-ray emission; High-Energy astrophysics; Star-Forming Galaxies; Star formation; Cosmic rays; Fermi-LAT.;

    Abstract : The nature of high-energy gamma-ray emission from Star-Forming Galaxies is of utmost importance for understanding both the origin of Cosmic Rays and the high-energy processes that shape galaxy formation. Observations from the gamma-ray telescope Fermi-LAT have detected gamma-ray emission from a handful of nearby Star-Forming Galaxies. READ MORE

  5. 5. Evaluation of internal dosimetry for 225- Ac using one single measurement based on 111-In imaging

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Selma Curkic; [2021]
    Keywords : Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : Background and aim: There is a high interest in determining the absorbed dose in tumors and organs for various radiotherapy cancer treatments. Due to limitations in today's methods of determining the patient specific absorbed dose it is usually not proceeded clinically. READ MORE
