  1. 1. Reprocessing and Characterization of Polybenzimidazole for High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Author : Douglas Björkengren; [2023]
    Keywords : polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells; PEMFC; HTPEMFC; polymer technology; polymer characterization; reprocessing; recycling; polybenzimidazole; PBI; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : A reprocessing method of poly(2,2’-(m-phenylene)-5,5’-bibenzimidazole) (PBI) membranes recovered from the production line of High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (HT-PEMFC) at Blue World Technologies (BWT) has been developed in order to reduce material loss in the production. Redissolution of scrap PBI membranes in poly(phosphoric acid) (PPA) and phosphoric acid (PA) was successful and the subsequent washing procedure produced PBI that could be redissolved in N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) and suitable for solution casting of new membranes. 2. 2. Study of Energy Neutrality in Kochi Metro Rail, India

    University essay from Högskolan i Halmstad/Sustainability, Innovation and Management in Building (SIMB)

    Author : Jeena Paul; [2021]
    Keywords : Solar PV panels; Traction Power; Auxiliary Power; Regenerative Braking System; Energy Neutrality;

    Abstract : Now a days, the society thinks about more sustainable and clean energy sources. Most of the countries in the world relay on non-renewable energy sources for the generation of electricity. This results in the scarcity of fossil fuels in future and also increases the production of carbon emissions. READ MORE

  3. 3. A nexus in crisis: How Brazil’s push for energy security through sugarcane-based ethanol is affecting its water security

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Camila Fagundes Hubel; [2020]
    Keywords : Energy-water nexus; sugarcane ethanol; land use change; precipitation; sustainable development;

    Abstract : As reliance on energy and water resources grow, so do the concerns regarding their security, especially in terms of availability. A projected rise in population, accompanied by the relentless pursuit of economic growth and increasing climate change, indicate that greater stress will be placed on these same resources. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development of a GIS model for water accounting in Jordan: focus on irrigation and energy usage in the water sector

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Daniel Pastor Pascual; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : With a water availability of less than 100 m3 per capita and year, Jordan is suffering extreme water-scarcity. To its intrinsic limited water resources more pressure is being added every year as a result of socioeconomic factors, such as the accelerated population growth, and a reduction of rainfalls and increase of evaporation as consequence of climate change. 5. 5. Setting the seeds for a green growth -A Study of biofuel development in Indonesia’s transport sector

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Sophia Aaman; Johan Henrik Hessel Lundberg; [2017]
    Keywords : Multi-Level Perspective; Long-range Energy Alternatives Planning; Biofuels for transport; Indonesia; Barriers.;

    Abstract : Climate change poses as one of the major environmental issues on a global scale today, with one of the largest contributor to the climate change being the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. GHG emissions in turn is known to a large extent originate in anthropogenic energy use, especially fossil fuel usage. READ MORE
