  1. 1. Enhancement of a Power Line Information System by Combining BIM and LiDAR Data

    University essay from KTH/Lantmäteri – fastighetsvetenskap och geodesi

    Author : Daniel Wollberg; [2024]
    Keywords : GIS; BIM; FME; CloudCompare; GIS; BIM; FME; CloudCompare;

    Abstract : With the great ongoing energy transition in Sweden, Svenska Kraftnät (SVK) sees a huge need for investment in the Swedish transmission network and supporting IT- systems.  SVK has a great amount of collected laser data over the electric power transmission network however this data does not contain any semantic attribution that can be analyzed on broader information systems. 2. 2. Quantum Optical Description of High-order Harmonic Generation

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Isabel Moreno; [2024]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : High-order Harmonic Generation (HHG) is a highly non-linear process in which an atom interacts with a strong laser field. The laser field lowers the atomic potential barrier allowing bound electrons to escape into the continuum through tunnel ionization, propagate, and, with some probability, recombine with the parent ion. 3. 3. An Empirical Survey of Bandits in an Industrial Recommender System Setting

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Tobias Schwarz; Johan Brandby; [2023-09-21]
    Keywords : computer science; industrial application; machine learning; reinforcement learning; multi-armed bandits; MAB; contextual multi-armed bandits; survey; batch learning;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the effects of incorporating unstructured data—images in the wild—in contextual multi-armed bandits are investigated, when used within a recommender system setting, which focuses on picture-based content suggestion. The idea is to employ image features, extracted by a pre-trained convolutional neural network, and study the resulting bandit behaviors when including respective excluding this information in the typical context creation, which normally relies on structured data sources—such as metadata. 4. 4. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 5. 5. Causal Discovery for Time Series : Based on Continuous Optimization

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Author : Ali Nouri; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Causal discovery is an important field of study that seeks to understand the underlying relationships between variables in a system. The goal of causal discovery is to discover the causal relationships from observational data and determine the direction of influence between variables. READ MORE
