    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Author : Derek van Winden; [2024]
    Keywords : Juice; Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer; JDC; Jovian plasma Dynamics and Composition analyzer; Particle Environment Package; PEP; Jupiter; Ganymede; Callisto; Europa; solar wind; magnetosheath; spacecraft charging; Spacecraft Plasma Interaction Software; SPIS; charging; plasma; measurement perturbations; perturbation; distortion; particle detector; Institutet för Rymdfysik; IRF; Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies; DIAS; European Space Agency; ESA;

    Abstract :  In July 2031, a new chapter in the exploration of the Jovian system will begin with the arrival of the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (Juice) at Jupiter. Launched on April 14 2024 as part of ESA’s Cosmic Vision programme, the mission aims to study Jupiter and its icy Galilean moons Callisto, Europa, and Ganymede. READ MORE

  2. 2. On Systematically Exploring the State Space for Events with SFCs

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Younis Akel; Gianmarco Iachella; [2023-08-07]
    Keywords : Autonomous driving systems; scenario-based testing; space-filling curve SFC ; characteristic stripe patterns CSP ; permutations; state-space; areas of interest AOI ;

    Abstract : In the process of developing autonomous driving systems (AD systems), ensuring safety remains a constant and continuous priority. Scenario-based testing is a popular approach to guarantee the safety of AD systems, which however meets challenges in terms of diversity and efficiency of generation, as well as evaluating existing test case datasets in terms of their coverage of the different variations of a particular maneuver. 3. 3. Comparing the Locality Preservation of Z-order Curves and Hilbert Curves

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Alex Nordin; Adam Telles; [2023-08-03]
    Keywords : space-filling curve; software engineering; software testing;

    Abstract : Developing and testing software in the automotive industry and in the research of autonomous vehicles requires the costly querying of multidimensional data recorded from such a vehicle’s various sensors. Through encoding such data using space filling curves, faster queries could be achieved by reducing multiple dimensions into a singular dimension, while exploiting the patterns that emerge in the one-dimensional representation to still get accurate search results. 4. 4. Systematically Analyzing Synthetic Automotive Data to support Space Filling Curves-based Maneuver Detection

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Alexandre Rancati-Palmer; Christopher Axt; [2023-08-03]
    Keywords : Morton; Carla; autonomous driving; edge case;

    Abstract : Context: In autonomous driving system development, the identification of maneuvers within large datasets is progressively becoming more complex, primarily due to the inherent complexity arising from the multidimensional nature of the data describing these maneuvers. In this context, algorithms based on Space-Filling Curves can be an effective way to index datasets by creating a single-dimensional representation of the maneuvers. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Convention on the Rights of the Child in practice: Social workers’ experience and acting space when implementing the Convention within the City of Gothenburg

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för globala studier

    Author : Emelie Ekbrand; [2023-01-26]
    Keywords : Convention on the Rights of the Child; implementation; social workers; children’s rights; acting space;

    Abstract : The aim with this thesis is to examine how social workers, who work in short-term and long term residential housing activities within the City of Gothenburg and meet children in their work with adults, experience the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in practice, and their perceived circumstances related to opportunities and obstacles regarding the implementation of CRC. As such, the research question that guided the aim are: How do social worker experience that CRC works in practice? What are the social workers own experience regarding interacting and caring communicating with the children they meet? How do social workers as street-level bureaucrats experience their own acting space when working with CRC in practice? The thesis gives new insight into how children´s rights are met at different levels within the City of Gothenburg, as most previous research has focussed on social secretaires experience of the implementation of the convention, looking at social workers experience can help to get an insight into how the convention are established at different levels.
