  1. 1. Real- and Quasi-Atomic Layer Etching for Ultra-High Resolution Patterning

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Yoana Ilarionova; [2023]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : An attempt was made at developing atomic layer etching from a cyclic etching process in an ICP-RIE tool. During the process OES was used for contamination monitoring and estimation of the relative amount of Cl2 left in the chamber during the etch step of cyclic etching processes. READ MORE

  2. 2. Probing Charm Production with Three-Particle Correlations in pp Collisions

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Author : Kim Haupt; [2023]
    Keywords : pp collisions; charm production; three-particle correlation; Pythia; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to investigate possible correlations between charm production and baryon production in proton-proton collisions through three-particle correlations. The question attempted to be answered is where, for a given charmed baryon, the balancing anti-charm particle and balancing anti-baryon are located. READ MORE

  3. 3. Orientation of plasma jet fronts in the Earth's magnetotail

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi; Uppsala universitet/Institutet för rymdfysik, Uppsalaavdelningen

    Author : Atlas Silverhult; [2023]
    Keywords : Space physics; plamsa; reconnection; magnetospheric multiscale; MMS; magnetosphere; minimum variance analysis; MVA;

    Abstract : This project aims to investigate the orientation of plasma jet fronts in Earth's magnetotail using multi-spacecraft measurement data. The orientations are estimated by applying minimum variance analysis (MVA) and multi-spacecraft timing analysis for finding normal vectors to the jet fronts as they pass over the spacecraft. 4. 4. Probing Strangeness Production in Proton-Proton Collisions with Three-Particle Correlations

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Melinda Petricean; [2023]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Strangeness production in small systems such as proton-proton collisions is here investigated through the use of three-particle correlations in the momentum-space coordinates η and ϕ. This method is used in order to investigate possible correlation between conservation of both strangeness and baryon number, such that the particles chosen are Λ¯pK+ and the respective charge conjugates, where Λ is a strange baryon, p¯ balances: the Balance Function and the comparative restriction of relative positions for pairs of particles within given triplets. 5. 5. Possible Bow Shock Current Closure to Earth's High Latitude Ionosphere on Open Field Lines

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Author : Gabriella Nordin; [2023]
    Keywords : Space Physics; Bow Shock Current; Field-Aligned Currents; Open Field Lines;

    Abstract : The bow shock is formed due to the abrupt deceleration of the supersonic solar wind in front of the terrestrial magnetic field. The solar wind plasma and the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) are both compressed across the shock, and according to Ampère's law a current thus flows on the bow shock at all times. READ MORE
