  1. 1. Parallelization of the SDIRK and Newton’s method and analysis of a weighted norm for error estimations

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH och numerisk analys

    Author : Matilda Hjälle; [2016]
    Keywords : Parallel programming; Numerical analysis; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : Execution time is an important issue in the field of numerical analysis. Simulations are getting more and more complex and the execution times are rapidly increasing. In the scope of this thesis a time integration library is used to solve initial value problems. READ MORE

  2. 2. Improved Event-mixing for Resonance Measurements

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikelfysik

    Author : Mengke Cai; [2016]
    Keywords : Resonance; Event mixing; phi meson; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This report first analyzed the reason for the deviation of the event-mixing method in background estimation for resonance research, and one possible explanation is that the event-mixing method can not reproduce the specific angular distribution of produced particles caused by jet-effects. This assumption was checked by Monte-Carlo simulations with PYTHIA, and a certain method of correction called reweighing was proposed to improve the event-mixing method. READ MORE

  3. 3. The effects of increased non-work time on the energy intensity of consumption

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Economics

    Author : Jonathan Stråle; [2016]
    Keywords : consumption; energy-intensity of consumption; time allocation; time effects; retirement consumption;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates how the energy intensity of consumption is affected by an increase in non-work time by estimating how retirement affects the consumption of gasoline and air travel. An estimable model is derived from Becker's (1965) theory of time allocation which is then estimated for a sample of 58-68 year old full-time workers and retired individuals that is taken from the 2014 Consumer Expenditure Survey made by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. 4. 4. Estimation of Aerodynamic Parameters in Real-Time : Implementation and Comparison of a Sequential Frequency Domain Method and a Batch Method

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Fluida och mekatroniska system

    Author : Lina Nyman; [2016]
    Keywords : Aerodynamic coefficients; least squares; chirp z-transform; instrumental variables; missing data;

    Abstract : The flight testing and evaluation of collected data must be efficient during intensive flight-test programs such as the ones conducted during development of new aircraft. The aim of this thesis has thus been to produce a first version of an aerodynamic derivative estimation program that is to be used during real-time flight tests. READ MORE

  5. 5. Managing Quality Requirements in Requirements Engineering Process : A survey

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för programvaruteknik

    Author : Neetika Roy Pakki; Sritheja Kavuri; [2016]
    Keywords : Requirements engineering process; Managing; Quality requirements; Quality aspects;

    Abstract : Context. Requirements play vital role in building the software application.These requirements are of two types: Functional requirements andNon-functional requirements (or quality requirements). Many of the organizationsconsider only functional requirements during the early stages ofdevelopment cycle. READ MORE
