21. Reprocessing and Characterization of Polybenzimidazole for High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells
University essay from Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntesAbstract : A reprocessing method of poly(2,2’-(m-phenylene)-5,5’-bibenzimidazole) (PBI) membranes recovered from the production line of High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (HT-PEMFC) at Blue World Technologies (BWT) has been developed in order to reduce material loss in the production. Redissolution of scrap PBI membranes in poly(phosphoric acid) (PPA) and phosphoric acid (PA) was successful and the subsequent washing procedure produced PBI that could be redissolved in N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) and suitable for solution casting of new membranes. 22. Phase Change Material : Potential for increased fire resistance in concrete
University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurserAbstract : The European commission has in the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive from 2010 decided that its member states were required to ensure that all new buildings by the end of 2020 were nearly zero-energy buildings. These buildings require small amounts of energy compared to its performance in example by keeping a pleasant indoor climate. READ MORE

23. Spatial downscaling of gridded soil moisture products using optical and thermal satellite data: the effects of using different vegetation indices
University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapAbstract : Soil moisture (SM) plays an important role in the exchange of heat and water between the surface and atmosphere, impacting water and energy cycles and the climate. Satellite remote sensing offers a global-scale estimation of SM; however, the coarse resolutions of satellite SM products, typically ranging from 25-50 km, are unsuitable for regional analysis. 24. Controls over stream temperature in a northern boreal landscape
University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskapAbstract : With widespread increases in air temperature, it is expected that the temperature of aquatic ecosystems will also increase, especially at high latitudes. Warmer streams and rivers could have severe, direct impacts on cold-adapted aquatic fauna but may also indirectly influence species by reducing the amount of suitable habitat. READ MORE

25. Assessing impacts of climate change on the energy and hygrothermal performance of detached houses in Sweden
University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för bygg- och miljöteknologi; Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesignAbstract : Climate change is one of the most significant challenges that building sector is confronting. For example, Climate change and associated extreme events are posing a significant challenge for the building sector. Buildings should be prepared to withstand the climate changes and extreme weather that will happen in the future. READ MORE
