  1. 1. Peak Load Shaving Strategies of an Office Building : A Case Study at AirSon

    University essay from Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för företagande, innovation och hållbarhet

    Author : Azin Farzam; [2024]
    Keywords : Shifting Peak Load; Electricity Reduction; Measuring Peak Load; Electricity Efficiency; Building Management System; Electricity Consumption.;

    Abstract : Introduction: The global demand for renewable energy is expected to grow annually due to rising electricity consumption and economic and regulatory incentives. Efficient consumption and management of electricity consumption can support this trend (shifting from fossil resources to renewable resources) and benefit companies economically by reducing peak loads, reducing subscription costs, and protecting companies' power systems and networks. 2. 2. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 3. 3. Minimising Battery Degradation And Energy Cost For Different User Scenarios In V2G Applications : An Integrated Optimisation Model for BEVs

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Elektricitetslära

    Author : Jacob Bengtsson; Benjamin Moberg Safaee; [2023]
    Keywords : Vehicle-to-Grid; V2G; Battery Electric Vehicle; BEV; State-of-Charge; SoC; State-of-Health; SoH; charging; discharging; degradation; energy cost; optimisation; optimization; Pyomo; Gurobi;

    Abstract : The functionality to both charge and discharge energy from and to the power grid to a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) is referred to as Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G). This allows the customer to buy energy when the spot price is low and sell energy when the price is high to make a profit, called energy arbitrage. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development of a Compact Drive System for Total Artificial Heart

    University essay from KTH/Medicinteknik och hälsosystem

    Author : Hossin Bakhtiari; [2023]
    Keywords : Total Artificial Heart; Drive System; Miniaturization; Electric Motor; Motor Performance Evaluation; Motor Selection; Totalt artificiellt hjärta; drivsystem; miniatyrisering; elektrisk motor; motorprestanda utvärdering; motor-urval;

    Abstract : Over eight decades of research into total artificial hearts (TAHs) has significantly contributed  to saving end-stage heart failure patients. However, at the current stage of development TAHs have several limitations, one of them being their bulkiness. READ MORE

  5. 5. Performance Evaluation of LoRa networks for Air-to-Ground Communications

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Kiana Khorsandi; Sareh Jalalizad; [2023]
    Keywords : IoT; LPWAN; LoRaWan; UAV; LAP; Bit error rate; Line of sight;

    Abstract : The current focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) has led to the emergence of many network scenarios with unlimited use cases, including smart homes, smart cities, smart agriculture, and more. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones, have become increasingly popular due to their versatility and ability to collect and transmit data through various sensors and cameras. READ MORE
