16. Additive manufacturing of lunar regolith simulant using direct ink writing
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskapAbstract : In this work, the use of a lunar regolith simulant as feedstock for the direct ink writing additive manufacturing process is explored, the purpose of which is to enable future lunar in-situ resource utilisation. The feasibility of this approach is demonstrated in a laboratory setting by manufacturing objects with different geometries using methyl cellulose or sodium alginate as binding agents and water as liquid phase together with the lunar regolith simulant EAC-1A to create a viscous, printable ‘ink’ that is used in combination with a custom three-axis gantry system to produce green bodies for subsequent sintering. 17. Bindning av PFAS-ämnen till humus- och fulvosyror : en dialysstudie
University essay from SLU/Dept. of Soil and EnvironmentAbstract : To make more accurate predictions of the mobility of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in soil and water, better understanding of PFAS sorption to components of the terrestrial and aquatic systems is needed. This study investigated the possible sorption of a range of PFAS compounds with varying chemistries to humic acid (HA) and fulvic acid (FA) using a dialysis bag experimental set-up. READ MORE

18. Alternative oxidase respiration in the mycorrhizal fungus Laccaria bicolor
University essay from SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and ManagementAbstract : The temperature on Earth is rising, and one of the main drivers is anthropogen-ic greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2). The world’s forests act as carbon sinks, binding carbon into their biomass. The net carbon assimilation is determined by the uptake and release of CO2 through the processes of photo-synthesis and respiration. READ MORE

19. Artificial photosynthesis - 4-Aminobenzoic acids effect on charge transfer in a photo catalytic system
University essay from Uppsala universitet/MaterialteoriAbstract : Artificial photosynthesis is used to harvest solar energy and store it in the form of chemical bonds. The system of interest in this study does this by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen gas through a plasmon assisted process, collective oscillations from free electron gas. READ MORE

20. How can Ecosystem Services be implemented in local Climate Adaptation? : A case study of Arjeplog
University essay from Mittuniversitetet/Institutionen för ekoteknik- och hållbart byggandeAbstract : Ecosystem services are essential for human climate adaptation. As climate change is a direct driver of change for ecosystem service provisioning, it is of importance to care for our ecosystems to be able to cope with future challenges. Local governance has a central role in climate adaptation due to its responsibility in physical planning. READ MORE
