  1. 1. Detection Of Soil Borne Pathogens Causing Pea Root Rot Using Minion

    University essay from Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Author : Alvine Lum Bongam; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Peas are small spherical seedpod of the pod fruit Pisum sativum. It is of great nutritional value containing vitamins, carbohydrates, proteins, and several minerals. A variety of diseases affects peas through a number of pathogens including insects, viruses, bacteria and fungi. READ MORE

  2. 2. Co-cultures of Yeasts and Zygomycetes in the Form of Pellets Methods for the Preparation of Pellets and Biocapsules, Their Properties and Applications

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Institutionen Ingenjörshögskolan

    Author : Jonas Nyman; Michael Lacintra; [2013]
    Keywords : Zygomycetes; Saccharomyces cerevisiae; Immobilization; Flocculation; Fungal Pellets; Biocapsules; Rhizomucor; Rhizopus; Mucor; Bioethanol; Fermentation;

    Abstract : Many industrially important fungi can grow in the form of small spherical pellets.Such pellets reduce the viscosity and enhances mass transfer rates in culture broths.The pelleted morphology also influences the fungus’s metabolism, directing it tospecific metabolites. The pellets are easily harvested from the broth and recycled. READ MORE

  3. 3. Extraction of chitosan from Fungal cell wall by Sulfuric acid Studying the effect of Deacetylation degree and temperature on recovery chitosan

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Institutionen Ingenjörshögskolan

    Author : Mehdi Gholizadeh Aghdam; [2010]
    Keywords : r.pulusilus; m.indicus; extraction; recovery; chitosan; fungal cell wall; sulfuric acid; deacetylation degree; temperature;

    Abstract : The goal of this project is extraction of chitosan optimally by surveys of temperature changesalong with 1% Sulfuric acid utilization. Microbial chitosan is isolated as a bio-componentfrom cell wall of two kinds of Zygomycetes by some extraction methods. This projectcompares ability of two type Fungi (R. pulusilus and M. READ MORE

  4. 4. Biosuperabsorbent from proteins

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Institutionen Ingenjörshögskolan

    Author : Hamidreza Barghi; Sara Majdejabbari; [2009]
    Keywords : superabsorbent hydrogel; albumin protein; zygomycetes protein; chemical modification; crosslinking agent; swelling behavior; biodegradability;

    Abstract : The present work is synthesizing novel protein-based superabsorbent hydrogels from albumin protein (AP) and isolated zygomycetes protein (IZP) via modification with an acylating reagent and a bifunctional crosslinker, also investigation on their swelling behaviors under some conditions. The hydrophilic acylating reagent was introduced into albumin and zygomycetes proteins and hydrophylicity of albumin and isolated zygomycetes protein were increased by ethylenediaminetetraacetic dianhydride (EDTAD). 5. 5. Antimicrobial effect of zygomycetes cell wall on nonwoven textiles

    University essay from Högskolan i Borås/Institutionen Ingenjörshögskolan

    Author : Patrik Lennartsson; [2007]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The goal of this thesis work was to investigate the antimicrobial effect of chitosan from zygomyzetes cell wall material in nonwoven textiles and compare it to commercially available chitosan. This was done using two methods, a somewhat modified version of AATCC Test Method 100-2004 (a standard method for quantitative testing of antimicrobial effect in textiles developed by the AATCC Committee) focusing on CFU, and TTC, a tetrazolium salt that changes from colourless to red in the presence of living microorganisms under the right conditions.
