Social networks in an NFC context

Abstract: The objective of this thesis is to study how to interact with social
networks from NFC-enabled devices (NFC is a close proximity wireless
communication technology). As NFC-enabled devices are often very limited,
this could be quite challenging. The thesis also investigates what could be
gained from interacting with social networks.

The thesis has produced an API for Java Micro Edition (Java ME) that enables
interaction with Facebook, WordPress and Twitter from mobile phones. The
thesis has also produced a generic API that enables other services to more
easily add support for interacting with their services from Java ME enabled
devices.

To show that the API is working, a prototype application has been
implemented. The prototype revolves around a cinema scenario, where the user
is able to watch a movie-trailer as well as share it with his friends on
social networks by simply touching a movie-poster with his mobile phone.
