Abstract: A new fast flash photography fast imaging system is devised to develop for studying the evolution of micron sized droplets travelling from the ink jet nozzle to substrate at 5 - 20 m/s. using flash illumination of 10 short pulses from different angles consecutively, sharp images of evolving droplets are expected to be captured. The electrical and optical characterization of the laser driver and photodetector is presented along with corresponding measurements. Detailed schematics of the whole optical system design are presented.
