Abstract: The aim of this study is to promote the use of satirical content in the English classroom.This study provides an analysis of three interviews with English teachers in the upper secondary school. The analysis compares earlier research with the findings from the interviews. Interview answers show through real experiences that satirical content may help students become more engaged, not only in learning English but in other social and cultural issues as well. Teachers will have to fight their insecurities about satire in order to use satirical content to its fullest potential. However, it is concluded that satire has a great potential in the English language classroom because of the number of advantages it can provide.
