Abstract: Technology and information systems has been instrumental in supporting multiple industries for the past 3 decades. The rapid growth of information and communication technology has led to better understanding to utilize these techs in solving many existing environmental issues. One of these issues is the residential energy consumption which accounts for more than 30% of the total energy consumption around the world as per the Iea (2014). This paper, is an empirical research on the acceptance and usability of residential energy information systems. The paper studies the impact of personal characterizes, social factors, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived risks & benefits on the attitude towards using a Residential Energy Information Systems.
