Abstract:

RAIN stands for Rocket deployed Atmospheric probes conducting conducting Independent measurements in Northern Sweden is a sounding rocket experiment developed at the Division of Space and Plasma Physics at the School of Electical Engineering at The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) together with the Department of Meteorology at Stockholm University (SU). This report is written based on SED (Student Experiment Documentation) and will cover whole aspects about in-house manufacturing and mechanical drawings for RAIN project under the supervision of Gunnar Tibert from Mechanics Department andNickolay Ivchenko from Space and Plasma Physics Department. RAIN will be launched by the Swedish Space Corporation in March 2012 as part of the REXUS 11/12 programme run by the European Space Agency. At the end, special thanks to Gunnar Tibert, Nickolay Ivchenko and Will Reid for giving me this opportunity to participate at RAIN project and also all the personnels at mechanical workshop in the Alfven Laboratory who helped me a lot with useful techniques and tips in manufacturing.
