Abstract: This master thesis is positioned in the field of experimental digital design and production of architecture. It is induced by the increased integration of computation in the architectural practice, allowing for information to flow more seamless from conception to production. The methodology is research through design, where the design project explores the parametric-algorithmic technique as a mean to let tectonic solutions concerning the joint, affect, and become a part of the design process. It investigates the potential to extract values and qualities from traditional craft of working with wood joinery techniques in timber construction, re-interpret and adopting them to current production techniques and production needs. The result is presented through a design to the Treehotel, Harads, Sweden.
