Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence that certain factors have on the gross national product (GDP) and to categorize in what way they contribute, by either having a positive or a negative influence, and how significant each of them are. Educational, environmental, economic and health factors are all investigated in this study. Using data provided by the World Bank, covariates are chosen from previous named areas and multiple linear regression analysis is used to produce a primary model. This model is then refined in to the final model. The covariates used in the final model are discussed to what extent and in what manner they contribute. The theory used in this paper will be explained briefly.
