Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to address the complexity of board involvement in the dynamic collaborative environment of joint ventures and, thereby, contribute to joint venturing and corporate governance literature. The researchers propose a model of an adaptive governance system wherein the board acts as a self-correction system, influencing and being influenced by the dynamics and complexity of interactions in a joint venture setting.
