Där konst och natur möts : om hur konsten kan fungera som en ingång till naturen

Abstract: På vilket sätt kan konst var ett sätt att locka människor till att besöka naturen? Kring denna fråga, sett ur ett landskapsarkitektperspektiv, kretsar det här examensarbetet. Uppsatsen inleds med en litteraturstudie där avsikten är att få en djupare förståelse om begrepp såsom landskapsarkitektur, konst, natur och Land Art. Även vårt behov av naturen och teorier om att fånga platsens själ behandlas. Härpå följer intervjuer med personer som genom sin yrkesroll och erfarenheter är kopplade till mötet mellan konst och natur. De intervjuade är konstnären Lars Vilks, landskapsarkitekten Charlotte Lund samt Monika Gora som arbetar både som konstnär och landskapsarkitekt. Intervjuerna efterföljs av fyra platsbesök runt om i Skåne – Wanås utställningar, Kivik Art Centre, Nimis och Ales stenar. Platserna beskrivs och analyseras med utgångspunkt i litteraturen och intervjuerna. Utifrån vad som kommit fram genom litteraturstudier, intervjuer och platsanalyser diskuteras uppsatsens fråga och resultatet visar att det verkar ha betydelse för en plats om det finns konst där eller inte. Natur med konstinslag kan vara intressant att besöka av olika anledningar. Studien visar att konst i natur verkar kunna fungera som ett attraherande element och att konsten även kan bidra med att skapa en trygg ram att förhålla sig till vilket leder till att platsen blir enkel att ta sig till. En unik och spännande plats skapas, som även blir intressant att besöka på grund av att andra människor är, eller har varit där. Konsten kan på så sätt ses som en nyckel till naturen. ABSTRACT:How can art be a way to entice people to visit the nature? Based on a landscape architectural perspective, this is the question dealt with in this master thesis. The essay begins with a literature study where the aim is to gain a deeper understanding of concepts such as landscape-architecture, art, nature and Land Art. Also our need for contact with nature as well as theories of capturing the “soul” of the place (genius loci) is discussed. This is followed by interviews with people who through their professional roles and experiences are related to the interaction between art and nature. The persons interviewed are the artist Lars Vilks, landscape architect Charlotte Lund and Monika Gora working both as an artist and landscape architect. The interviews are followed by four site visits around Scania (the southern part of Sweden) - Wanås exhibitions, Kivik Art Center, Nimis and Ales stenar. The places are described and analyzed based on the literature and the interviews. Based on the outcome of literature studies, interviews and site analyses the research question is discussed. The ensuing results show that the presence of art is of relevance to the place. Nature with art elements will be interesting to visit for various reasons. The study shows that art in nature seems to function as an attracting element and the arts can also contribute to create a framework to relate to, which makes the sites easier to visit. A unique and exciting site is created, which also will be interesting to visit because other people are or have been there. Art can thus be seen as a key to nature.
