Turning towards the Real : Epistemological reflections upon Ṣadr al-Dīn al-Qūnawī’s al-Risāla al-Muršidīya

Abstract: The paper revolves around the text al-Risāla al-Muršidīya written in the 13th century by Ṣadr al-Dīn al-Qūnawī. The paper discusses two key terms in the writings of Qūnawī: waǧh ḫāṣṣ and tawaǧǧuh and their place in his epistemology They are seen by the author of the paper to represent an effort on the part of Qūnawī to integrate the outer and the inner, theory and practice in his epistemology.
