Is Cooperation the Only way to Enhance Knowledge Transfer within Multinational Corporations?-A study of intrafirm competition from knowledge transfer perspective

Abstract: Knowledge regarded as resource of strategic importance for Multinational Corporations gained a lot of attention in recent years. A number of inhibitors of successful knowledge transfer have been identified. However as there has been much focus on the role of cooperation, the coexisting competition within the corporate network as well as its influence on knowledge transfer has been neglected. The aim of this study is to investigate the role of intrafirm competition in overcoming the knowledge transfer barriers.
