  1. 1. Improvement of the 1D CFD method for Thermal management of a Battery Electric Vehicle

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Mekanisk värmeteori och strömningslära

    Author : SASHWAT CHHETRI; [2022]
    Keywords : CFD; Electromobility; BEV; Thermal Management; Simulation;

    Abstract : Electrification of vehicles is necessary to combat greenhouse gas emissions, whichcauses global warming and climate change. There has been a demand in the use ofBattery Electric Vehicles due to this increased awareness of sustainability. However,they have been beset with issues such as range and conservation of energy. 2. 2. Modeling, Simulation and Correlation of Drag losses in a Power Transfer Unit of an All- Wheel Drive System

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Balaji Srinivasan Venkatesan; [2020]
    Keywords : 1-D simulation; System simulation; ROMAX Energy; LMS AMESim; Power loss; Hypoid gear; Power Transfer Unit; Efficiency and Drag Loss Tests; 1-D simulering; systemsimulering; ROMAX Energy; LMS AMESim; effektförlust; hypoidväxel; kraftöverföringsenhet; effektivitet och dragförlusttester;

    Abstract : A Power Transfer Unit (PTU) of an All-Wheel Drive System is a hypoid gear transmission unit that distributes the power from the vehicle transmission to all wheels of the vehicle. This thesis aims at increasing the fidelity of the analytical power loss calculation methods through test data correlation and develop a 1D simulation model that can be used to evaluate the drag losses in the PTU at early design stages. 3. 3. Modelling the Production of Biofuels via Olefins Oligomerisation

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Nima Mirzaei; [2020]
    Keywords : Biofuels; Mathematical Modelling; Process Simulation; Oligomerisation; Fischer-Tropsch; Biobränslen; Matematisk Modellering; Process Simulering; Oligomerisering; Fischer-Tropsch;

    Abstract : The technical feasibility of gasoline and diesel range hydrocarbons production through oligomerisation of olefins, starting from biomass with the intermediary steps of gasfication, water-gas shift reaction and syngas-to-olefins synthesis was investigated, through mathematical modelling and simulation on Matlab. The model for the gasifier was based on minimisation of Gibbs free energy and its results showed that higher carbon efficiencies could be achieved at lower pressures and steam inlet, and more inlet energy, by pre-heating the gasifying agents. Abstract : The automotive industry is currently traversing through the electrification wave. Numerous manufacturers are directing focus to electrify their lineup and reduce emissions. In the frontier of heavy duty diesel trucks, electrification of auxiliary units remains an unexplored potential. READ MORE

  5. 5. Capacitance Optimization and Ballistic Modeling of Nanowire Transistors

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Azal Alothmani; [2018]
    Keywords : Nanowire transistor; 1-D MOSFET; RF performance; permittivity; parasitic capacitance; HSQ; COMSOL Multiphysics; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Downscaling of Si-based metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) has contributed to increased microchip device density and to improve the functionality of the electronic circuits. The dimensions of state of art MOSFET is down to a few nanometers. It has been demonstrated that smaller MOSFETs are faster and more energy-efficient. READ MORE
