  1. 1. Parametric Analysis of Thermal Comfort and Energy Efficiency in a Building Located in Different Climate Regions

    University essay from Högskolan i Gävle/Energisystem och byggnadsteknik

    Author : Nikolaos Patsatzis; [2022]
    Keywords : building; thermal comfort; simulation;

    Abstract : One of the biggest challenges of a residential building, when it is designed, is to be energy efficient and to provide simultaneously many hours of thermal comfort throughout the year. So, this was the scope of this thesis: to perform a parametric analysis of thermal comfort and energy efficiency in a house that was designed for the climate of Gotland in Sweden. READ MORE

  2. 2. A study of the stability of vitamin 25[OH]D2 and 25[OH]D3

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för kemi och biomedicin (KOB)

    Author : Anna Kellström; [2020]
    Keywords : Vitamin D; 25-hydroxyvitamin D; pre-analytical relevance; HPLC-MS MS; stable; freeze-thaw cycles; light sensitivity; quality assurance;

    Abstract : During the industrialization of the 19th century the negative health effects of vitamin D was discovered as children in the cities developed osteomalacia or more commonly known as rickets caused by vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is produced in the skin from 7-dehydrocholesterol during sun-exposure and enhances intestinal phosphor and calcium absorption thus enhancing the bone remodeling process. READ MORE

  3. 3. A Quadrature Frequency Generation Chain for Direct-conversion Phased-array 5G Transceivers

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Hamid Yadegar Amin; [2020]
    Keywords : 5G Phased array mm-wave FR2; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The 5th generation (5G) has recently specified a new spectrum range, FR2- 5G New Radio (5G-NR), to provide higher spectral efficiency and channel capacity for ubiquitous cellular connectivity where the user ends can be in various types such as picocell stations, sensor nodes, cloud servers, hand-held devices, and so on. Due to the advantage of phased array antennas in performing beam-forming, and improving SNR at higher spectra, multi-antenna systems have gained an inevitable role in developing such radios. 4. 4. Techno-economic Study of Hydrogen as a Heavy-duty Truck Fuel : A Case Study on the Transport Corridor Oslo – Trondheim

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Janis Danebergs; [2019]
    Keywords : Hydrogen; heavy-duty transport; zero emissions; FCET; HRS; techno-economic analysis; TCO; LCOH; Vätgas; lastbilar; nollutsläpp; vätgaslastbil; teknisk ekonomisk analys; TCO; LCOH;

    Abstract : Norway has already an almost emission-free power production and its sales of zero-emission light-duty vehicles surpassed 30% in 2018; a natural next challenge is to identify ways to reduce emissions of heavyduty vehicles. In this work the possibilities to deploy Fuel Cell Electric Trucks (FCET) on the route Oslo-Trondheim are analyzed by doing a techno-economic analysis. READ MORE

  5. 5. LIGHT AS A TOOL TO STRUCTURE URBAN PLANNING : A Socially-Oriented Approach

    University essay from KTH/Ljusdesign

    Author : IVONNE CRISTINA GIL VENEGAS; [2018]
    Keywords : Human perception; citizens engagement; nighttime lighting; nighttime urban life; social interaction; nighttime urban planning; 24 7 cities;

    Abstract : How can light positively influence and encourage pedestrians’ engagement and interaction with the urban environments at night? In this Master Thesis, I questioned how to develop nighttime urban planning from a socially-oriented approach. In order to answer this question, I studied different evidence such as two publications, three lighting designers’ and a lighting studio’ approach; three case studies analyses, two of them located in Colombia (Cartagena and Medellín) and one in Sweden (Stockholm);and my own qualitative observation and quantitative measurements studied between April and May at Norrmalmstorg and Biblioteksgatan in Stockholm, Sweden.
