  1. 1. Speckle suppression in ultrasound images of heterogeneous materials

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Author : Simon Johnsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Ultrasound; non-destructive testing; wiener filter; signal processing;

    Abstract : Performing non-destructive testing (NDT) on materials is a helpful tool for maintenance and quality control because the materials are not destroyed or disturbed; ultrasound imaging is one type of NDT. Ultrasound imaging of heterogeneous materials contains many echoes from the material itself. READ MORE

  2. 2. Organization of Electronic Dance Music by Dimensionality Reduction

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Victor Tideman; [2022]
    Keywords : Dimensionality Reduction; Digital Signal Processing; Similarity; Music;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to produce a similarity metric for tracks of the genre: Electronic Dance Music, by taking a high-dimensional data representation of each track and then project it to a low-dimensional embedded space (2D and 3D) by applying two Dimensionality Reduction (DR) techniques called t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE) and Pairwise Controlled Manifold Approximation (PaCMAP). A content-based approach is taken to identify similarity, which is defined as the distances between points in the embedded space. READ MORE

  3. 3. Hand Gesture Classification using Millimeter Wave Pulsed Radar

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Author : Eda Dagasan; [2020]
    Keywords : Hand Gesture Classification; Millimeter Wave Radar; Statistical Signal Processing; Time-Frequency Analysis; Room Impulse Response Estimation; Sparse Dictionary Learning; Classification; Supervised Learning; Convolutional Neural Networks; k-Nearest Neighbor; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : Millimeter wave pulsed radar has found many applications, among them hand gesture sensing, which this work has as purpose. This application has already shown good potential, [1], and here in this work robustness aspects are taken into account. READ MORE

  4. 4. LPI waveforms for AESA radar

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Fasta tillståndets elektronik

    Author : Andreas Sjöberg; [2020]
    Keywords : Radar LPI waveform AESA;

    Abstract : The purpose of low probability of intercept (LPI) radar is, on top of the standard requirements on a radar, to remain undetected by hostile electronic warfare (EW) systems. This can be achieved primarily by reducing the amount of radiated power in any given direction at all times and is done by transmitting longer modulated pulses that can then be compressed digitally in order to retain range resolution. 5. 5. Development of a demo platform on mobile devices for 2D- and 3D-sound processing

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Elektricitetslära

    Author : Frans Rosencrantz; [2020]
    Keywords : Spatial Audio; Raspberry PI; Microphone Array; Dirac;

    Abstract : This thesis project aims for the development of a demonstration platform on mobile devices for testing and demonstrating algorithms for 2D and 3D spatial sound reproduction. The demo system consists of four omnidirectional microphones in a square planar array, an Octo sound card (from Audio Injector), a Raspberry Pi 3B+ (R-Pi) single-board computer and an inertial measurement unit (IMU) located in the center of the array.
