  1. 16. Discussion of Python Implementation Techniques for Discontinuous Galerkin Methods

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); Lunds universitet/Matematikcentrum

    Author : Ulf Vestberg; [2023]
    Keywords : Best approximation; Orthogonal polynomials; Legendre polynomials; Integration; Full tensor product; Sum-factorization; Dune; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : This paper discusses implementation techniques for integration methods within the Discontinuous Galerkin Methods. These methods are used to approximate solutions for differential equations. To do so, one must compute a polynomial, which is an approximation of the used function. READ MORE

  2. 17. WSA-ENLIL + Cone ensemble modeling of an Earth-directed ICME : Comparison with in-situ observations by Solar Orbiter and WIND at L1

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi; Uppsala universitet/Institutet för rymdfysik, Uppsalaavdelningen

    Author : Alberto García Ribas; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are considered the most energetic phenomenon in the heliosphere. Originated in the solar corona, they are formed by ejected plasma driven by strong magnetic fields. READ MORE

  3. 18. The effect of disorder on the axial anomaly in a lattice model in 1 + 1 dimensions

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Agnes Wattrang; [2023]
    Keywords : Axial anomaly; tight-binding model; semiclassical physics; correlated disorder.; Axial kiral anomali; tätbindningsmodell; semiklassisk fysik; korrelerad oordning;

    Abstract : This work investigates the effect of a disorder potential, that represents impurities/dislocations in the lattice, on the time-dependent signature of the axial anomaly in a one-band tight-binding model in one spatial dimension. The tight-binding model is solved numerically and the simulation results are compared with a semiclassical expression for the time-dependent axial density, n5(t), due to Nielsen and Ninomiya [1]. 4. 19. A geometric approach to calculating the limit set of eigenvalues for banded Toeplitz matrices

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH

    Author : Teodor Bucht; [2023]
    Keywords : Toeplitz matrices; Banded Toeplitz matrices; Limit set; Eigenvalues; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : This thesis is about the limiting eigenvalue distribution of n × n Toeplitz matrices as n → ∞. The two classical questions we want to answer are: what is the limit set of the eigenvalues, and what is the limiting distribution of the eigenvalues. Our main result is a new approach to calculate the limit set Λ(b) for a Laurent polynomial b, i.e. READ MORE

    Abstract : Contemporary English as a foreign language (EFL) classrooms in upper secondary schools in Sweden make frequent use of receptive media such as movies and television to facilitate language learning. The more interactive medium of video games is seldom used for the same purpose, despite previous research indicating that the added layer of interactivity can bring benefits such as improvements to vocabulary, written production and reading comprehension.
