  1. 1. Tsirelson's Bound : Introduction and Examples

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)

    Author : Amanda Kaarna; [2022]
    Keywords : Tsirelson s bound; Bell inequalities; The CHSH inequality; The I3322 inequality; Semidefinite programming;

    Abstract : Tsirelson's bound is the upper bound for a Bell inequality which is valid for all quantum mechanical systems. We discuss why Tsirelson's bound was developed by looking at some historical arguments in quantum physics, such as the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox, an argument for the quantum mechanical description of physical reality being incomplete, and local hidden variables. 2. 2. Towards a Cooper pair splitter in InAs nanowires with crystal-phase defined quantum dots

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Lunds Tekniska Högskola

    Author : Louise Olausson; [2022]
    Keywords : Cooper pair splitter; quantum dot; nanowire; superconductivity; InAs; crystal-phase; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Cooper pair splitting (CPS) is a process in which the two spin-entangled electrons of a Cooper pair in a superconductor are split into two spatially separated electrons. If the separated electrons are still entangled, CPS can be studied to increase the knowledge of non-locality in quantum systems. READ MORE

  3. 3. Residual Bell Nonlocality

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Materialteori

    Author : Parham Azish; [2020]
    Keywords : Bell inequality; Nonlocality; Three-qubit system; tripartite Nonlocality; Bells olikhet; ickelokalitet; tre-kvantbitsystem; Tredelad ickelokalitet;

    Abstract : This report provides a new theoretical measure for the nonlocality of an arbitrary three-qubit pure state system similar to the method used to describe tripartite entanglement, resulting in a concept referred to as residual nonlocality, η. This report also investigates the special cases that can be encountered when using η. READ MORE

  4. 4. Non-local transport properties of a sextuple quantum dot system in the co-tunneling regime

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Fredrik Norrman Brange; [2014]
    Keywords : Quantum mechanics; Quantum entanglement; Bell s inequality; Nonlocal effects; Schrieffer-Wolff transformation; Full counting statistics; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Quantum entanglement between electrons in nanostructures is a key concept of quantum information still waiting to be experimentally demonstrated. In this master's thesis we present and analyze the full counting statistics of the charge transfer of a sextuple quantum dot system which works as both entangler and detector of spatially separated electrons. 5. 5. Quantum Entanglement and Cryptography

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysik

    Author : Sean Gray; [2014]
    Keywords : quantum entanglement; information theory; quantum information; quantum teleportation; quantum cryptography; key distribution;

    Abstract : In this paper the features of quantum systems which lay the foundation of quantum entanglement are studied. General properties of entangled states are discussed, including their entropy and relation to Bell's inequality. Applications of entanglement, namely quantum teleportation and quantum cryptography, are also considered. . READ MORE
