  2. 2. Serglycin as a potential diagnostic biomarker for hemangiosarcoma in dogs

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Author : Cassandra Linder; [2022]
    Keywords : Serglycin; EEF2; cancer; hemangiosarcoma; dog; canine; metastatic; biomarker; qPCR;

    Abstract : Hemangiosarcoma (HSA) is a common splenic malignant neoplasia in dogs, originating from the endothelium. The tumor has an aggressive character, and the clinical symptoms of HSA are mostly due to the secondary effects of the tumor such as tumor growth or rupture. The prognosis is poor for HSA, usually with a survival time of under one year. READ MORE

  3. 3. The value of cardiac MRI texture analysis in patients with clinically suspected myocarditis

    University essay from

    Author : Evin Ina Papalini; [2021-05-10]
    Keywords : Medical physics; Myocarditis; Cardiac magnetic resonance; Texture analysis;

    Abstract : Purpose: The aim of this proof-of-concept study was to assess the diagnostic value of texture analysis (TA) based on conventional balanced steady-state-free precession (bSSFP), late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and T2-weighted cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) in patients with clinically suspected myocarditis. Method: A retrospective cohort study was performed based on 30 patients who underwent a comprehensive CMRI due to clinically suspected myocarditis between 2013 and 2018 at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital: 10 patients with clinical signs and positive myocardial biomarkers (Troponin T, indicating myocardial injury) as well as positive CMRI findings according to Lake Louise Criteria (LLC; group 1), 10 patients with clinical signs and positive myocardial biomarkers but negative CMRI findings according to LLC (group 2), and 10 patients with clinical signs but both negative myocardial biomarkers as well as CMRI findings according to LLC (control group). 4. 4. Extracellular vesicles (EVs):roles in cell proliferation and transcriptomic analysis of HUVEC receiving cancerderived EVs

    University essay from Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Author : Benyapa Tangruksa; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract :  Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are released by almost  all types of cells. EVs play an    important role in cell-to-cell communication by sending biomolecules such as mRNAs to    other cells via endocytosis. READ MORE
