  1. 1. Solving Partial Differential Equations With Neural Networks

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Matematiska institutionen

    Author : Håkan Karlsson Faronius; [2023]
    Keywords : Partial differential equations; neural networks; physics-informed neural networks; deep ritz method; fourier neural operator; importance sampling; inverse problems;

    Abstract : In this thesis three different approaches for solving partial differential equa-tions with neural networks will be explored; namely Physics-Informed NeuralNetworks, Fourier Neural Operators and the Deep Ritz method. Physics-Informed Neural Networks and the Deep Ritz Method are unsupervised machine learning methods, while the Fourier Neural Operator is a supervised method. READ MORE

  2. 2. Comparative Analysis of Adaptive Domain Decomposition Algorithms for a Time-Spectral Method

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Vilhelm Dinevik; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Time-spectral solvers for partial differential equations (PDE) have been explored in various forms during the last few decades. The generalized weighted residual method (GWRM) is one such method with a high accuracy and efficiency. The GWRM has so far been implemented almost exclusively with a uniform grid of subdomains in the spatial domain. READ MORE

  3. 3. Crack Detection using Non-linear and Dissipative Acoustics

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för maskinteknik

    Author : Daniel Carldén; Daniel Thuresson; [1998]
    Keywords : Non-linear acoustics; Non-linear parameter; Burger s equation; Bessel-Fubini; Fay; Mendousse; Hedberg; Non-destructive testing NDT ; Non-destructive Evaluation NDE ; crack detection.;

    Abstract : A theoretical model for identification of acoustical non-linearity using Burger's equation was implemented in a MATLAB program. The program identified both the non-linearity parameter and the distance from the signal source. Tests were performed in order to verify the theories. READ MORE
