  1. 1. The value of cardiac MRI texture analysis in patients with clinically suspected myocarditis

    University essay from

    Author : Evin Ina Papalini; [2021-05-10]
    Keywords : Medical physics; Myocarditis; Cardiac magnetic resonance; Texture analysis;

    Abstract : Purpose: The aim of this proof-of-concept study was to assess the diagnostic value of texture analysis (TA) based on conventional balanced steady-state-free precession (bSSFP), late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and T2-weighted cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) in patients with clinically suspected myocarditis.Method: A retrospective cohort study was performed based on 30 patients whounderwent a comprehensive CMRI due to clinically suspected myocarditisbetween 2013 and 2018 at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital: 10 patients with clinical signs and positive myocardial biomarkers (Troponin T, indicating myocardial injury) as well as positive CMRI findings according to Lake Louise Criteria (LLC; group 1), 10 patients with clinical signs and positive myocardial biomarkers but negative CMRI findings according to LLC (group 2), and 10 patients with clinical signs but both negative myocardial biomarkers as well as CMRI findings according to LLC (control group). 4. 4. Developing a New Method for MRI Triggering Using Doppler Ultrasound

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Usama Gazay; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Purpose: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to produce high quality images of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body. Cardiac gating is a triggering system used for the MRI scanner to synchronize the MRI scanner with the cardiac cycle of the patient while imaging. READ MORE

  5. 5. Assessment of hemodynamic parameters using 4D Flow MRI

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH

    Author : Mattias Andersson; [2018]
    Keywords : Hemodynamics; Hemodynamic Parameters; 4D Flow; 4D Flow MRI; Blood flow; Cardiac Disease; Heart Disease; MRI; Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Visualisation; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : Heart disease is one of the worldwide leading causes of death, and facilitating the work of physicians in this area is therefore of great importance. Imaging of the heart is one of many fields that is used for diagnosis and analysis of cardiac disease. READ MORE
