  2. 22. Structural features underlying antigen presentation by the non-classical MHC class Ib molecule Qa-1b

    University essay from KTH/Proteinvetenskap

    Author : Lejla AI-Tamimi; [2022]
    Keywords : immune checkpoint; NKG2A; MHC class Ib; Qdm; antibody; crystal structure;

    Abstract : Blockering av NKG2A receptorn på NK - och CD8+ T celler med en anti-NKG2A antikropp, medför en aktivering av cytolytisk aktivitet, och är en lovande immunkontrollpunkt i immunterapi mot cancer. Nyligen har en TCR-liknande antikropp, EXX1, som binder till liganden för NKG2A receptorn, Qa-1b - en icke-klassisk MHC klass Ib molekyl i möss -studerats i tumör modeller in vitro. READ MORE

  3. 23. Digitised charged-particle discrimination in CsI detector signals

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Mats Bror Linus Persson; [2022]
    Keywords : Microball; Gammasphere; pulse-shape discrimination; scintillator; charge-comparison method; cosine similarity; exotic nuclei; fusion-evaporation reaction; Argonne National Laboratory; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This work is aimed at improving the discrimination of protons and α particles in digitised signals from CsI(Tl) scintillators. This has been achieved using pulse-shape discrimination, wherein the shape of the pulses is used to learn which particle is detected. READ MORE

  4. 24. Mainstreaming Nature-based Solutions - The Impact of Societal Dynamics on Risk and Adaptation Perspectives of Pluvial Floods in Malmö

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Author : Minja Sillanpää; Sofia Ritthammer; [2022]
    Keywords : Nature-based Solutions; Blue-Green Solutions; Mainstreaming Adaptation; Sustainable Urban Stormwater Management; Pluvial Flood-Risk; Climate Change Adaptation; Private Stakeholder Engagement; Capacity Development; Grounded Theory; Social Sciences; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Cities around the world are not only facing the impacts of climate change but are also increasingly charged with the responsibility to adapt. The city of Malmö in Sweden, facing the consequences of ever-so-present pluvial floods, has set an objective to increase the use of multifunctional Nature-based Solutions (NBS) in its urban stormwater planning. 5. 25. Geometry studies of high energy 16O collisions

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik

    Author : Aliaksei Kuzmenka; [2022]
    Keywords : Ion Collisions; Oxygen; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this project a model of oxygen, 16O, nuclei, where the nucleons are organised in α-clusters, was implemented in the Pythia Monte Carlo event generator. To study the effects of the new model, some observables, such as the distribution of the number of the wounded nucleons, charged particle multiplicity in the forward and central pseudorapidity region, and the pseudorapidity distribution for different centrality bins and eccentricity, are compared to the model originally implemented in Pythia (Woods-Saxon).
