  1. 11. House Price and Fertility Decisions: Evidence from Taiwan

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Graduate School

    Author : Samuel Attafuah; Ko-Cheng Chang; [2022-06-23]
    Keywords : House Price; Fertility; Taiwan; Realized Fertility RF ; Fertility Intentions LF ; Fertility Gap FG ;

    Abstract : Given the concurrent incidence of falling birth rates and increasing house prices experienced in Taiwan over the past two decades, the current thesis examines the role of house prices on fertility-related behaviors and outcomes among Taiwanese households. Acknowledging that housing is a major cost associated with childrearing and the theoretical assumption that children are normal goods, we hypothesize that house price inflation will adversely impact fertility and that current non-homeowners are the most affected due to the “resource exhaustion effect”. 2. 12. Personalized Federated Learning for mmWave Beam Prediction Using Non-IID Sub-6 GHz Channels

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Yuan Cheng; [2022]
    Keywords : Personalized Federated Learning; Millimeter wave; Beamforming; DeepMIMO; Non-IID; Personaliserad Federad Inlärning; Millimetervågor; Strålformning; DeepMIMO; Icke-IID;

    Abstract : While it is difficult for base stations to estimate the millimeter wave (mmWave) channels and find the optimal mmWave beam for user equipments (UEs) quickly, the sub-6 GHz channels which are usually easier to obtain and more robust to blockages could be used to reduce the time before initial access and enhance the reliability of mmWave communication. Considering that the channel information is collected by a massive number of radio base stations and would be sensitive to privacy and security, Federated Learning (FL) is a match for this use case. 3. 13. Classification Method of Financial Behaviour Through Means of Machine Learning : Can a classification method created using bank transaction and machine learning help individuals to understand their spending behavior?

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Yilei Cheng; Akhmed Al-Sayed; [2022]
    Keywords : machine learning; bank transactions; classification; spending behaviour; overspending; money awareness.; maskininlärning; banktransaktioner; klassificering; utgiftsbeteende; överutgifter; finansiell kunskap.;

    Abstract : With the current fast transformation from physical cash to digitized banking systems, there are more and more people that are at risk of overspending without realizing it. There are methods and researches done that are targeted at incorporating machine learning in identifying fraudulent transactions and credit scores but currently there is no research done in categorizing people’s behaviour based on transaction records using machine learning techniques. 4. 14. Energy Landscapes for Early T Cell Development

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Yukun Cheng; [2022]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : T cell lineage development from an early thymic progenitor involves programmed shutoff of progenitor gene expression, upregulation of T cell specification genes, and proliferation. This biological system has been deeply studied and a gene regulatory network (GRN) that can accurately describe the system has been presented. READ MORE

  5. 15. Procedural System for Urban Forest Generation : Image-based Natural Terrain Generation

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Bosen Cheng; [2022]
    Keywords : datauppsättningar; neurala nätverk; blickdetektering; texttaggning;

    Abstract : Procedural content generation is a common way to create model resources in the computer graphics area. It is beneficial for generating large-scale models such as buildings, forests, etc. This project focus on the generation of the urban forest, which is a case often overlooked. READ MORE
