  1. 1. Design and processing of metal-organic frameworks for greenhouse gas capture

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nanoteknologi och funktionella material

    Author : Evelina Wiksten; [2023]
    Keywords : Metal-organic frameworks; zeolitic imidazolate frameworks; carbon capture; gas adsorption; direct ink writing;

    Abstract : Anthropogenic emission of greenhouse gases has long been suspected to contribute to global warming and climate change. Most greenhouse gases are emitted in a mixture, so efficient methods and materials to separate and capture the gases are in demand in order to reduce emissions. READ MORE

  2. 2. Metal-Organic Frameworks for Carbon Dioxide Capture : Using Sustainable Synthesis Routes

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskap

    Author : Dhruva Deole; [2022]
    Keywords : Metal-Organic Frameworks; Metal-Organic Frameworks for Carbon Dioxide Capture; Sustainable Synthesis; 3D Printing of Metal-Organic Frameworks; Nanomaterials; Nanoporous Materials; Nanotechnology and Functional Materials;

    Abstract : Globally the combustion of fossil fuels has increased to a greater extent. Carbon dioxide (CO2) a major greenhouse gas isa by-product of such combustion practices. READ MORE

  3. 3. High Resolution 3D Printing with Cellulose Acetate

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nanoteknologi och funktionella material

    Author : Nils Heyman; [2020]
    Keywords : 3D printing; cellulose acetate;

    Abstract : In this project, an additive manufacturing technique called Direct Ink Writing has been used to 3D print structures from polymer solutions containing cellulose acetate. Cellulose acetate is a synthetic compound derived from plants. The intended application involves protein separation filters for medical purposes. READ MORE

  4. 4. Development and 3D Printing of Intrinsically Stretchable Materials for Microsupercapacitors

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Alexander Engman; [2020]
    Keywords : Stretchable electronics; Printed electronics; 3D printing; Direct Ink Writing; Additive manufacturing; Printed supercapacitor; Sträckbar elektronik; Tryckt elektronik; Friformsframställning; Direct InkWriting; Additiv tillverkning; Tryckt superkondensator;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to develop a simple Direct Ink Writing (DIW) method for fabricating intrinsically stretchable microsupercapacitors as ef- fective on-chip energy storage devices for the emerging stretchable electron- ics. Using the printing method for fabricating intrinsically stretchable elec- tronic components remains a novel approach. READ MORE

  5. 5. Additive manufacturing of lunar regolith simulant using direct ink writing

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap

    Author : Billy Grundström; [2020]
    Keywords : 3D printing; additive manufacturing; lunar regolith simulant; european space agency; ESA; in situ resource utilisation; ISRU; direct ink writing; sintering;

    Abstract : In this work, the use of a lunar regolith simulant as feedstock for the direct ink writing additive manufacturing process is explored, the purpose of which is to enable future lunar in-situ resource utilisation. The feasibility of this approach is demonstrated in a laboratory setting by manufacturing objects with different geometries using methyl cellulose or sodium alginate as binding agents and water as liquid phase together with the lunar regolith simulant EAC-1A to create a viscous, printable ‘ink’ that is used in combination with a custom three-axis gantry system to produce green bodies for subsequent sintering.
