  1. 1. Silver Mineralogy and Modes of Occurrence at the Silver Hart Deposit, South East Yukon.

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Michael Ives-Ruyter; [2023]
    Keywords : Canada; Yukon; silver; lead; zinc; galena; sulfosalt; sulfur isotope;

    Abstract : The Silver Hart property is a high grade silver-lead-zinc deposit consisting of polymetallic vein style, manto (carbonate replacement) style, and skarn type mineralization. Host rock consists of calcareous and non-calcareous sediments of the Cassiar Platform, mainly biotite schists, limestone units, and the monzogranite unit of the Cassiar Batholith. READ MORE

  2. 2. The Fe-oxides (mineralogical, chemical, and textural) variation in the Leveäniemi deposit using micro-analytical tools for unraveling of primary features and metamorphic recrystallisation

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Adrian Larsson; [2022]
    Keywords : Leveäniemi; Magnetite; Hematite; Iron oxides; Iron oxide apatite;

    Abstract : The Leveäniemi iron oxide apatite (IOA) deposit, mined by LKAB, is located in Norrbotten, northern Sweden. The deposit has a partially more complex mineralogy than the neighbouring and more famous IOA deposits of Kiirunavaara and Malmberget. READ MORE

  3. 3. Techniques for characterization and quantification analysis of foulant deposition in Alfa Laval’s high-speed separators : A literature study

    University essay from

    Author : Mwansa Benaya; Henrik Dahlén; Emil Axelsson; Cassandra Liljekvist; Maja Nordell; [2022]
    Keywords : Dairy foulant; Marine foulant; Characterization; Quantification; Stainless steel; surface; analysis;

    Abstract : Alfa Laval is a global company that provides solutions, products, and services for industry, such as high-speed separators for marine and food-application. Foulant deposition on the stainless-steel surfaces of Alfa Laval’s high-speed separators has shown to result in lowering of the separation efficiency. READ MORE

  4. 4. Uranium Mineralizations at Kiirunavaara,Northernmost Sweden

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Diego Segovia Menard; [2022]
    Keywords : kiirunavaara; uranium; EPMA; water; hydrothermal;

    Abstract : In recent years, a variably high amount of uranium (U) and radon (Rn) were found in the water and airof the Kiirunavaara mine in Kiruna, northern Sweden. The Swedish Agency for Marine and WaterManagement (Havs och vattenmyndigheten) has maximum limits for “special polluting substances” inwater that is released to natural recipients (HVMFS 2019:25), therefore, the mining company LKAB,owner and operator of the Kiirunavaara mine, decided to conduct a study to investigate the issueregarding these findings, triggering this master thesis. 5. 5. Laser Ablation in Magnetites; Unravelling the Signatures of Trace Element Patterns for Ore Petrogenesis : Trace element signatures of magnetite linked to metallogenesis of iron mineralizations of the Kiruna type

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Siôn Kinson; [2020]
    Keywords : EPMA; LA-ICPMS; petrogenesis; magnetite; orthomagmatic; igneous; hydrothermal; alteration; EPMA; LA-ICPMS; petrogenes; magnetit; ortomagmatisk; stollande; hydrotermisk; förändring;

    Abstract : Trace element analyses of magnetite samples from multiple ore deposits worldwide have recently been conducted, using both EPMA and LA-ICPMS, in order to try and understand the petrogenesis of Kiruna-type ore deposits. Here I employ literature data and new data from Kiruna and Grängesberg (Sweden) to help constrain and visualise evolutionary trends recorded by our samples and derive an overall model for the evolutionary processes that lead to Kiruna-type deposits.
