  1. 1. Data Augmentation: Enhancing Named Entity Recognition Performance on Swedish Medical Texts

    University essay from Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Author : Lucas Rosvall; Niklas Paasonen; [2023-10-05]
    Keywords : Machine Learning; Information Extraction; Named Entity Recognition; BERT; Data Augmentation;

    Abstract : Named Entity Recognition (NER) refers to the task of locating relevant information within text sequences. Within the medical domain, it can benefit applications such as de-identifying patient records or extracting valuable data for other downstream tasks. READ MORE

  2. 2. The European pressurized-water reactor between narratives and policies: exploring the French nuclear reactor design with a feasibility framework to assess wider implications for France and the EU

    University essay from Lunds universitet/LUCSUS

    Author : Simone Della Coletta; [2023]
    Keywords : EPR; nuclear; feasibility; narrative; policy; sustainability science; Social Sciences;

    Abstract : With fossil fuel-dependencies affecting energy generation, and renewables being contextually limited by intermittency and dispatchability issues, this work explores European Pressurized-water Reactors (EPRs) as a nuclear-based climate mitigation measure in France and in the EU. Through its conceptual framework, this paper evaluates the technical potential of EPRs through the gate-keeping effect of initiative feasibility and narrative analysis. READ MORE

  3. 3. On the emergent relative distancebetween quantum systems

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Sebastian Jovancic; [2022]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In an emergent spacetime framework where relative distances between quantum systemsare determined by the mutual information between the systems, an entangled pairmust be shown to have a non-zero distance even though its mutual information is maximalby virtue of being maximally entangled. This report shows that in fact an entangledpair is only maximally entangled in some degrees of freedom such as spin, and when oneintroduces other quantum degrees of freedom the mutual information is no longer maximaland so a non-zero distance can be recovered. 4. 4. Organic Solar Cell Fabrication and Study on the Influence of Spin-dependent Processes on the Photocurrent using Spin-sensitive Techniques

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik

    Author : Ronja Olsmats Baumeister; Evelina Roxner; [2022]
    Keywords : EDMR; EPR; trEDMR; PEDOT:PSS; PCBM; P3HT; organic solar cells; osc; opv;

    Abstract : Research in recent years on novel materials in organic solar cells (OSCs) have contributed to a rapid advancement in OSC efficiency. Here, OSCs with the well-studied organic semiconductors poly(3-hexylthiophene):[6,6]-phenyl C60-butyric acid methylester (P3HT:PCBM) in a bulk heterojunction structure were prepared to establish a baseline procedure for fabrication and spin-sensitive spectroscopy. 5. 5. Tsirelson's Bound : Introduction and Examples

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)

    Author : Amanda Kaarna; [2022]
    Keywords : Tsirelson s bound; Bell inequalities; The CHSH inequality; The I3322 inequality; Semidefinite programming;

    Abstract : Tsirelson's bound is the upper bound for a Bell inequality which is valid for all quantum mechanical systems. We discuss why Tsirelson's bound was developed by looking at some historical arguments in quantum physics, such as the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox, an argument for the quantum mechanical description of physical reality being incomplete, and local hidden variables.
