  1. 1. Modeling of Biomass Gasification with Adaptation to Biological Methanation Using Aspen Plus®

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Author : Abdallah Almashharawi; [2022]
    Keywords : Biomass gasification; Cyclone gasifier; Aspen Plus; Syngas; Synthesis gas; Biogas; Biological methanation; Methane; CO2; RISE; Meva; Gas-cleaning; Gas cleaning; equilibrium; kinetic; pyrolysis; validation; Moisture content; Chemical engineering; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : حظيت البدائل المتجددة باهتمام كبير في ظل انخفاض موارد الوقود الاحفوري المتاحة وزيادة المتطلبات البيئية. ان انتاج المواد الكيميائية والوقود المتجدد من خلال استغلال الكتلة الحيوية يقدم طريقا واعدا لدفع هذا التحول الى الامام. READ MORE

  2. 2. Geometrical Improvement of Fuel Nozzle Locations in the SGT-750 Gas Turbine : An investigation into fuel-air mixing in main channels 1 & 2

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Mekanisk värmeteori och strömningslära

    Author : Aryan Delir; [2022]
    Keywords : gas turbine engines; turbofan; combustion; SGT-750; flashback; hydrogen; natural gas; premixing; fuel-air mixing; computational fluid dynamics; CFD; turbulence modelling; NOx emission; lean premixed mixture;

    Abstract : This study was conducted on SGT-750, which utilizes can type fourth generation DLE burner, developed at Siemens Energy AB, in Finspång, Sweden. The aim of this study is to obtain a flat fuel profile at the outlet of main channel 1 and main channel 2, demonstrating a proper mixing of fuel and air in the main channels leading to reducing local high-temperature points, and thus, reducing thermal NOx emissions. 3. 3. Investigation of the combustion behavior in a fluidized reactor with oxygen carriers as bed material

    University essay from KTH/Energi- och ugnsteknik

    Author : Carl Kajnäs; [2016]
    Keywords : Bed materials; Fluidized bed combustion; Gaseous fuels; Oxygen carrier aided combustion; Oxygen carriers.;

    Abstract : The behavior of using oxygen carriers as bed material in a fluidized bed combustion was investigated in this work when methane, air and carbon monoxide, air are used as fluidizing gases. More specifically, conversion rate, unsteadiness and gas composition was investigated and it was found that the conversion rate of carbon monoxide and methane are higher when oxygen carriers are used as bed material compared to silica sand and that the highest conversion rate was for oxygen carriers with high oxygen transport capacity and high reactivity towards the gaseous fuel. 4. 4. Prediction of ignition limits with respect to fuel fraction of inert gases. : Evaluation of cost effective CFD-method using cold flow simulations

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för tillämpad fysik och elektronik

    Author : Johan Sjölander; [2015]
    Keywords : Combustion; gas turbines; CFD;

    Abstract : Improving fuel flexibility for gas turbines is one advantageous property on the market. It may lead to increased feasibility by potential customers and thereby give increased competiveness for production and retail companies of gas turbines such as Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery in Finspång.
