    Abstract : Since its composition two centuries ago in 1824, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (Ode to Joy) has been heralded the world over not only as a great work of art, but also as a symbol of political importance. In Germany, it was lionised as the embodiment of a national spirit, first during the Franco-Prussian war, then as a prize of the Nazi repertoire; in Rhodesia, it became the national anthem of a far-right white ethno-state, while on the far-left, it occupied a rare position of Western revolutionary music in China.     Abstract : This thesis aims to answer the following questions: How does the EU Commission approach the issue of climate justice, more specifically climate reparations? What discursive patterns and inconsistencies are present in the EU Commission’s stance on climate justice? What are the relationships between the EU Commission and actors representing the Global South on the topic of climate reparations? How does the EU work with climate financing today on an international level? Finally, what demands are coming from the Global South? In order to respond to these questions, critical discourse analysis is used to analyze three documents.     Abstract : In this thesis, I discuss the difficulties Ukrainian refugees face in accessing and integrating into the Swedish labor market, the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Sweden with regard to the labor market integration of Ukrainian refugees, and the policy hindrance and CSOs’ limitation in achieving their goal for Ukrainian refugees.
